2You have granted him his heart's desire and have not refused what he requested. [Selah]
3You welcome him with blessings and prosperity and place a crown of finest gold on his head.
4He asked of you life, and you gave it to him, length of days for ever and ever.
5Your victory has brought him great glory; you invest him with majesty and honour,
6for you bestow everlasting blessings on him, and make him glad with the joy of your presence,
7for the king puts his trust in the LORD; the loving care of the Most High keeps him unshaken.
8Your hand will reach all your enemies, your right hand all who hate you;
9at your coming you will set them in a fiery furnace; in his anger the LORD will engulf them, and fire will consume them.
10It will destroy their offspring from the earth and rid mankind of their posterity.
11For they have aimed wicked blows at you; in spite of their plots they could not prevail;
12but you will aim at their faces with your bows and force them to turn in flight.
13Be exalted, LORD, in your might; we shall sing a psalm of praise to your power.
