2says of the LORD, “He is my refuge and fortress, my God in whom I put my trust.”
3He will rescue you from the fowler's snare and from deadly pestilence.
4He will cover you with his wings; you will find refuge beneath his pinions. His truth will be a shield and buckler.
5You will not fear the terrors abroad at night or the arrow that flies by day,
6the pestilence that stalks in darkness or the plague raging at noonday.
7A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand close at hand, but you it will not touch.
8With your own eyes you will observe this; you will see the retribution on the wicked.
9Surely you are my refuge, LORD. You have made the Most High your dwelling-place;
10no disaster will befall you, no calamity touch your home.
11For he will charge his angels to guard you wherever you go,
12to lift you on their hands for fear you strike your foot against a stone.
13You will tread on asp and cobra, you will trample on snake and serpent.
14Because his love holds fast to me, I shall deliver him; I shall lift him to safety, for he knows my name.
15When he calls to me, I shall answer; I shall be with him in time of trouble; I shall rescue him and bring him to honour.
16I shall satisfy him with long life and show him my salvation.
