1'You shall not make<6213> for yourselves idols<457>, nor<3808> shall you set<6965> up for yourselves an image<6459> or a sacred pillar<4676>, nor<3808> shall you place<5414> a figured<4906> stone<68> in your land<776> to bow<7812> down<7812> to it; for I am the LORD<3068> your God<430>.
2'You shall keep<8104> My sabbaths<7676> and reverence<3372> My sanctuary<4720>; I am the LORD<3068>.
3'If<518> you walk<1980> in My statutes<2708> and keep<8104> My commandments<4687> so as to carry<6213> them out,
4then I shall give<5414> you rains<1653> in their season<6256>, so that the land<776> will yield<5414> its produce<2981> and the trees<6086> of the field<7704> will bear<5414> their fruit<6529>.
5'Indeed, your threshing<1786> will last<5381> for you until<5381> grape<1210> gathering<1210>, and grape<1210> gathering<1210> will last<5381> until<5381> sowing<2232> time<2233>. You will thus eat<398> your food<3899> to the full<7648> and live<3427> securely<983> in your land<776>.
6'I shall also grant<5414> peace<7965> in the land<776>, so that you may lie<7901> down<7901> with no<369> one<369> making you tremble<2729>. I shall also eliminate<7673> harmful<7451> beasts<2421> from the land<776>, and no<3808> sword<2719> will pass<5674> through<5674> your land<776>.
7'But you will chase<7291> your enemies<340> and they will fall<5307> before<6440> you by the sword<2719>;
8five<2568> of you will chase<7291> a hundred<3967>, and a hundred<3967> of you will chase<7291> ten<7233> thousand<7233>, and your enemies<340> will fall<5307> before<6440> you by the sword<2719>.
9'So I will turn<6437> toward<413> you and make you fruitful<6509> and multiply<7235> you, and I will confirm<6965> My covenant<1285> with you.
10'You will eat<398> the old<3465> supply<3462> and clear<3318> out the old<3465> because<4480><6440> of the new<2319>.
11'Moreover, I will make<5414> My dwelling<4908> among<8432> you, and My soul<5315> will not reject<1602> you.
12'I will also walk<1980> among<8432> you and be your God<430>, and you shall be My people<5971>.
13'I am the LORD<3068> your God<430>, who<834> brought<3318> you out of the land<776> of Egypt<4714> so<4480> that you would not be their slaves<5650>, and I broke<7665> the bars<4133> of your yoke<5923> and made you walk<1980> erect<6968>.
14'But if<518> you do not obey<8085> Me and do not carry<6213> out all<3605> these<428> commandments<4687>,
15if<518>, instead, you reject<3988> My statutes<2708>, and if<518> your soul<5315> abhors<1602> My ordinances<4941> so as not to carry<6213> out all<3605> My commandments<4687>, and so break<6565> My covenant<1285>,
16I, in turn<637>, will do<6213> this<2088> to you: I will appoint<6485> over<5921> you a sudden<928> terror<928>, consumption<7829> and fever<6920> that will waste<3615> away<3615> the eyes<5869> and cause the soul<5315> to pine<1727> away<1727>; also, you will sow<2232> your seed<2233> uselessly<7385>, for your enemies<340> will eat<398> it up.
17'I will set<5414> My face<6440> against you so that you will be struck<5062> down<5062> before<6440> your enemies<340>; and those who hate<8130> you will rule<7287> over you, and you will flee<5127> when no<369> one<369> is pursuing<7291> you.
18'If<518> also after<5704> these<428> things<428> you do not obey<8085> Me, then I will punish<3256> you seven<7651> times<7651> more<3254> for your sins<2403>.
19'I will also break<7665> down<7665> your pride<1347> of power<5797>; I will also make<5414> your sky<8064> like iron<1270> and your earth<776> like bronze<5154>.
20'Your strength<3581> will be spent<8552> uselessly<7385>, for your land<776> will not yield<5414> its produce<2981> and the trees<6086> of the land<776> will not yield<5414> their fruit<6529>.
21'If<518> then, you act<1980> with hostility<7147> against<5973> Me and are unwilling<3808><14> to obey<8085> Me, I will increase<3254> the plague<4347> on you seven<7651> times<7651> according to your sins<2403>.
22'I will let<7971> loose<7971> among you the beasts<2421> of the field<7704>, which will bereave<7921> you of your children<7921> and destroy<3772> your cattle<929> and reduce<4591> your number so that your roads<1870> lie<8074> deserted<8074>.
23'And if<518> by these<428> things<428> you are not turned<3256> to Me, but act<1980> with hostility<7147> against<5973> Me,
24then I will act<1980> with hostility<7147> against<5973> you; and I, even<1571> I, will strike<5221> you seven<7651> times<7651> for your sins<2403>.
25'I will also bring<935> upon you a sword<2719> which will execute<5358> vengeance<5359> for the covenant<1285>; and when you gather<622> together into your cities<5892>, I will send<7971> pestilence<1698> among<8432> you, so that you shall be delivered<5414> into enemy<340> hands<3027>.
26'When I break<7665> your staff<4294> of bread<3899>, ten<6235> women<802> will bake<644> your bread<3899> in one<259> oven<8574>, and they will bring<7725> back<7725> your bread<3899> in rationed<4948> amounts<4948>, so that you will eat<398> and not be satisfied<7646>.
27'Yet if<518> in spite of this<2088> you do not obey<8085> Me, but act<1980> with hostility<7147> against<5973> Me,
28then I will act<1980> with wrathful<2534> hostility<7147> against<5973> you, and I, even<637> I, will punish<3256> you seven<7651> times<7651> for your sins<2403>.
29'Further, you will eat<398> the flesh<1320> of your sons<1121> and the flesh<1320> of your daughters<1323> you will eat<398>.
30'I then will destroy<8045> your high<1116> places<1116>, and cut<3772> down<3772> your incense<2553> altars<2553>, and heap<5414> your remains<6297> on the remains<6297> of your idols<1544>, for My soul<5315> shall abhor<1602> you.
31'I will lay<5414> waste<2723> your cities<5892> as well and will make<8074> your sanctuaries<4720> desolate<8074>, and I will not smell<7381> your soothing<5207> aromas<7381>.
32'I will make<8074> the land<776> desolate<8074> so that your enemies<340> who settle<3427> in it will be appalled<8074> over<5921> it.
33'You, however, I will scatter<2219> among the nations<1471> and will draw<7385> out a sword<2719> after<310> you, as your land<776> becomes<1961> desolate<8077> and your cities<5892> become<1961> waste<2723>.
34'Then<227> the land<776> will enjoy<7521> its sabbaths<7676> all<3605> the days<3117> of the desolation<8074>, while you are in your enemies'<340> land<776>; then<227> the land<776> will rest<7673> and enjoy<7521> its sabbaths<7676>.
35'All<3605> the days<3117> of its desolation<8074> it will observe<7673> the rest<7673> which<834> it did not observe<7673> on your sabbaths<7676>, while you were living<3427> on it.
36'As for those of you who may be left<7604>, I will also bring<935> weakness<4816> into their hearts<3824> in the lands<776> of their enemies<340>. And the sound<6963> of a driven<5086> leaf<5929> will chase<7291> them, and even when no<369> one is pursuing<7291> they will flee<5127> as though<4499> from the sword<2719>, and they will fall<5307>.
37'They will therefore stumble<3782> over each<376> other<251> as if running from the sword<2719>, although no<369> one<369> is pursuing<7291>; and you will have<1961> no strength to stand<8617> up before<6440> your enemies<340>.
38'But you will perish<6> among the nations<1471>, and your enemies'<340> land<776> will consume<398> you.
39'So those of you who may be left<7604> will rot<4743> away<4743> because of their iniquity<5771> in the lands<776> of your enemies<340>; and also<637> because of the iniquities<5771> of their forefathers<1> they will rot<4743> away<4743> with them.
40'If they confess<3034> their iniquity<5771> and the iniquity<5771> of their forefathers<1>, in their unfaithfulness<4603> which<834> they committed<4603> against Me, and also<637> in their acting<1980> with hostility<7147> against<5973> Me--
41I also<637> was acting<1980> with hostility<7147> against<5973> them, to bring<935> them into the land<776> of their enemies<340>--or<176> if<227> their uncircumcised<6189> heart<3824> becomes<3665> humbled<3665> so that they then<227> make<7521> amends<7521> for their iniquity<5771>,
42then I will remember<2142> My covenant<1285> with Jacob<3290>, and I will remember<2142> also<637> My covenant<1285> with Isaac<3327>, and My covenant<1285> with Abraham<85> as well<637>, and I will remember<2142> the land<776>.
43'For the land<776> will be abandoned<5800> by them, and will make<7521> up for its sabbaths<7676> while it is made<8074> desolate<8074> without<4480> them. They, meanwhile, will be making<7521> amends<7521> for their iniquity<5771>, because<3282> they rejected<3988> My ordinances<4941> and their soul<5315> abhorred<1602> My statutes<2708>.
44'Yet in spite<637><1571> of this<2088>, when they are in the land<776> of their enemies<340>, I will not reject<3988> them, nor<3808> will I so abhor<1602> them as to destroy<3615> them, breaking<6565> My covenant<1285> with them; for I am the LORD<3068> their God<430>.
45'But I will remember<2142> for them the covenant<1285> with their ancestors<7223>, whom<834> I brought<3318> out of the land<776> of Egypt<4714> in the sight<5869> of the nations<1471>, that I might be their God<430>. I am the LORD<3068>.'"
46These<428> are the statutes<2706> and ordinances<4941> and laws<8451> which<834> the LORD<3068> established<5414> between<996> Himself and the sons<1121> of Israel<3478> through<3027> Moses<4872> at Mount<2022> Sinai<5514>.
