1Finally <3063>, pray <4336> for <4012> us <2257>, brothers and sisters <80>, that <2443> the Lord’s <2962> message <3056> may spread quickly <5143> and <2532> be honored <1392> as <2531> in fact it was among <4314> you <5209>,
2and <2532> that <2443> we may be delivered <4506> from <575> perverse <824> and <2532> evil <4190> people <444>. For <1063> not <3756> all <3956> have faith <4102>.
3But <1161> the Lord <2962> is <1510> faithful <4103>, and he will strengthen <4741> you <5209> and <2532> protect <5442> you from <575> the evil one <4190>.
4And <1161> we are confident <3982> about <1909> you <5209> in <1722> the Lord <2962> that <3754> you are <4160> both <2532> doing <4160>– and <2532> will do <4160>– what <3739> we are commanding <3853>.
5Now <1161> may the Lord <2962> direct <2720> your <5216> hearts <2588> toward <1519> the love <26> of God <2316> and <2532> the endurance <5281> of Christ <5547>.
6But <1161> we command <3853> you <5213>, brothers and sisters <80>, in <1722> the name <3686> of our Lord <2962> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>, to keep away <4724> from <575> any <3956> brother <80> who lives <4043> an undisciplined life <814> and <2532> not <3361> according to <2596> the tradition <3862> they received <3880> from <3844> us <2257>.
7For <1063> you know <1492> yourselves <846> how <4459> you must <1163> imitate <3401> us <2248>, because <3754> we did <812> not <3756> behave without discipline <812> among <1722> you <5213>,
8and we did <5315> not <3761> eat <5315> anyone’s <5100> food <740> without paying <1432>. Instead <235>, in <1722> toil <2873> and <2532> drudgery <3449> we worked <2038> night <3571> and <2532> day <2250> in order <4314> not <3361> to burden <1912> any <5100> of you <5216>.
9It was not <3756> because <3754> we do <2192> not <3756> have <2192> that right <1849>, but <235> to give <1325> ourselves <1438> as an example <5179> for you <5213> to <1519> imitate <3401>.
10For <1063> even when <3753> we were <1510> with <4314> you <5209>, we used to give <3853> you <5213> this command <3853>: “If <1487> anyone <5100> is <2309> not <3756> willing <2309> to work <2038>, neither <3366> should he eat <2068>.”
11For <1063> we hear <191> that some <5100> among <1722> you <5213> are living <4043> an undisciplined life <814>, not <3367> doing <2038> their own <3367> work <2038> but <235> meddling in the work of others <4020>.
12Now <1161> such people <5108> we command <3853> and <2532> urge <3870> in <1722> the Lord <2962> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547> to work <2038> quietly <2271> and so provide <2038> their own <1438> food <740> to eat <2068>.
13But <1161> you <5210>, brothers and sisters <80>, do <1573> not <3361> grow weary <1573> in doing what is right <2569>.
14But <1161> if <1487> anyone <5100> does <5219> not <3756> obey <5219> our <2257> message <3056> through <1223> this <5126> letter <1992>, take note <4593> of him and do <4874> not <3361> associate closely <4874> with him <846>, so that <2443> he may be ashamed <1788>.
15Yet <2532> do <2233> not <3361> regard <2233> him as <5613> an enemy <2190>, but <235> admonish <3560> him as <5613> a brother <80>.
16Now <1161> may <1325> the Lord <2962> of peace <1515> himself <846> give <1325> you <5213> peace <1515> at <1223> all times <3956> and in <1722> every <3956> way <5158>. The Lord <2962> be with <3326> you <5216> all <3956>.
