1Then Moses <04872> and the elders <02205> of Israel <03478> commanded <06680> the people <05971>: “Pay attention <08104> to all <03605> the commandments <04687> I <0595> am giving <06680> you today <03117>.
2When <03117> you cross <05674> the Jordan River <03383> to <0413> the land <0776> the Lord <03068> your God <0430> is giving <05414> you, you must erect <06965> great <01419> stones <068> and cover <07874> them with plaster <07874>.
3Then you must inscribe <03789> on <05921> them all <03605> the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451> when you cross over <05674>, so that <04616> you may enter <0935> the land <0776> the Lord <03068> your God <0430> is giving <05414> you, a land <0776> flowing <02100> with milk <02461> and honey <01706> just as <0834> the Lord <03068>, the God <0430> of your ancestors <01>, said <01696> to you.
4So when <01961> you cross <05674> the Jordan <03383> you must erect <06965> on Mount <02022> Ebal <05858> these <0428> stones <068> about which <0834> I <0595> am commanding <06680> you today <03117>, and you must cover <07874> them with plaster <07874>.
5Then you must build <01129> an altar <04196> there <08033> to the Lord <03068> your God <0430>, an altar <04196> of stones <068>– do not <03808> use <05130> an iron <01270> tool on <05921> them.
6You must build <01129> the altar <04196> of the Lord <03068> your God <0430> with whole <08003> stones <068> and offer <05927> burnt offerings <05930> on <05921> it to the Lord <03068> your God <0430>.
7Also you must offer <02076> fellowship offerings <08002> and eat <0398> them there <08033>, rejoicing <08055> before <06440> the Lord <03068> your God <0430>.
8You must inscribe <03789> on <05921> the stones <068> all <03605> the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451>, making <0874> them clear <03190>.”
9Then Moses <04872> and the Levitical <03881> priests <03548> spoke <01696> to <0413> all <03605> Israel <03478>: “Be quiet <05535> and pay attention <08085>, Israel <03478>. Today <02088> <03117> you have become <01961> the people <05971> of the Lord <03068> your God <0430>.
10You must obey <08085> him and keep <06213> his commandments <04687> and statutes <02706> that <0834> I <0595> am giving <06680> you today <03117>.”
11Moreover, Moses <04872> commanded <06680> the people <05971> that <01931> day <03117>:
12“The following tribes <0428> must stand <05975> to bless <01288> the people <05971> on <05921> Mount <02022> Gerizim <01630> when you cross <05674> the Jordan <03383>: Simeon <08095>, Levi <03878>, Judah <03063>, Issachar <03485>, Joseph <03130>, and Benjamin <01144>.
13And these <0428> other tribes must stand <05975> for the curse <07045> on Mount <02022> Ebal <05858>: Reuben <07205>, Gad <01410>, Asher <0836>, Zebulun <02074>, Dan <01835>, and Naphtali <05321>.
14“The Levites <03881> will call out <06030> to <0413> every <03605> Israelite <03478> <0376> with a loud <07311> voice <06963>:
15‘Cursed <0779> is the one <0376> who makes <06213> a carved <06459> or metal image <04541>– something abhorrent <08441> to the Lord <03068>, the work <04639> of the craftsman <02796>– and sets it up <07760> in a secret place <05643>.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say <0559>, ‘Amen <0543>!’
16‘Cursed <0779> is the one who disrespects <07034> his father <01> and mother <0517>.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say <0559>, ‘Amen <0543>!’
17‘Cursed <0779> is the one who moves <05253> his neighbor’s <07453> boundary <01366> marker.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say <0559>, ‘Amen <0543>!’
18‘Cursed <0779> is the one who misleads <07686> a blind <05787> person on the road <01870>.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say <0559>, ‘Amen <0543>!’
19‘Cursed <0779> is the one who perverts <05186> justice <04941> for the resident foreigner <01616>, the orphan <03490>, and the widow <0490>.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say <0559>, ‘Amen <0543>!’
20‘Cursed <0779> is the one who has sexual relations <07901> with <05973> his father’s <01> former wife <0802>, for <03588> he dishonors <03671> <01540> his father <01>.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say, ‘Amen <0543>!’
21‘Cursed <0779> is the one <03605> who commits bestiality <0929> <05973> <07901>.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say, ‘Amen <0543>!’
22‘Cursed <0779> is the one who has sexual relations <07901> with <05973> his sister <0269>, the daughter <01323> of either his father <01> or <0176> mother <0517>.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say <0559>, ‘Amen <0543>!’
23‘Cursed <0779> is the one who has sexual relations <07901> with <05973> his mother-in-law <02859>.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say <0559>, ‘Amen <0543>!’
24‘Cursed <0779> is the one who kills <05221> his neighbor <07453> in private <05643>.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say <0559>, ‘Amen <0543>!’
25‘Cursed <0779> is the one who takes <03947> a bribe <07810> to kill <05221> an innocent <05355> person <01818> <05315>.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say <0559>, ‘Amen <0543>!’
26‘Cursed <0779> is the one who <0834> refuses <03808> to keep <06965> the words <01697> of this <02063> law <08451>.’ Then all <03605> the people <05971> will say <0559>, ‘Amen <0543>!’
