1PRAISE the LORD. Praise the name of the LORD; give praise, you servants of the LORD,

2who minister in the house of the LORD, in the temple courts of our God.

3Praise the LORD, for he is good; sing psalms to his name, for that is pleasing.

4For the LORD has chosen Jacob to be his own, Israel as his treasured possession.

5I know that the LORD is great, that our God is above all gods.

6Whatever the LORD wills, that he does, in heaven and on earth, in the sea and all the great deep.

7He brings up the mist from the ends of the earth, makes clefts for the rain, and brings the wind out of his storehouses.

8He struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, both of humans and of animals.

9In Egypt he sent signs and portents against Pharaoh and all his subjects.

10He struck down mighty nations and slew powerful kings:

11Sihon king of the Amorites, King Og of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan.

12He gave their land as a heritage to his people Israel.

13LORD, your name endures for ever; your renown, LORD, will last to all generations,

14for the LORD will give his people justice; he has compassion on his servants.

15The gods of the nations are idols of silver and gold, fashioned by human hands.

16They have mouths that cannot speak and eyes that cannot see;

17they have ears that cannot hear, and there is no breath in their mouths.

18Their makers become like them, and so do all who put their trust in them.

19House of Israel, bless the LORD; house of Aaron, bless the LORD.

20House of Levi, bless the LORD; you that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.

21Blessed from Zion be the LORD, he who dwells in Jerusalem. Praise the LORD.
