4advance in your pomp and splendour, ride on in the cause of truth and for justice. Your right hand will perform awesome deeds:
5your arrows are sharp; nations lie beneath your feet. The hearts of the king's enemies fail.
6God has enthroned you for all eternity; your royal sceptre is a sceptre of equity.
7You love right and hate wrong; therefore God, your God, has anointed you above your fellows with oil, the token of joy.
8Your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and powdered aloes, and you are made glad by string music from palaces panelled with ivory.
9Princesses are among your noble ladies, your consort takes her place at your right hand in gold of Ophir.
10Listen, my daughter, hear my words and consider them: forget your own people and your father's house;
11let the king desire your beauty, for he is your lord.
12Do him obeisance, daughter of Tyre. The richest in the land will court you with gifts.
13Within the palace the royal bride is adorned, arrayed in cloth-of-gold.
14She will be brought to the king in all her finery. Virgins who are her companions will be brought to you in her retinue,
15escorted with the noise of revels and rejoicing as they enter the king's palace.
16You will have sons to succeed your forefathers, and you will make them princes throughout the land.
17I shall declare your fame through all generations; therefore nations will praise you for ever and ever.
