Toba: Jadi sai tumatangis ma jolma ni si Simson di jolona, ninna ma: Rupa magigi do ho mida ahu, ndang dihaholongi roham ahu. Ai marhulingkulingan ho tu donganku sabangso, hape ndang dipaboa ho anggo tu ahu. Jadi ro ma alusna: Gari tu damang dohot tu dainang, ndang hupaboa, lam tu ho ma paboaonku?


AYT: Istri Simson menangis di hadapannya dan berkata, “Sesungguhnya, engkau membenciku dan tidak mencintaiku. Teka-teki yang kaukatakan kepada orang-orang sebangsaku tidak engkau beritahukan kepadaku.” Simson, “Bahkan, ayah dan ibuku tidak kuberitahukan. Masakan aku memberitahukan kepadamu?”

TB: Lalu menangislah isteri Simson itu sambil memeluk Simson, katanya: "Engkau benci saja kepadaku, dan tidak cinta kepadaku; suatu teka-teki kaukatakan kepada orang-orang sebangsaku, tetapi jawabnya tidak kauberitahukan kepadaku." Sahutnya kepadanya: "Sedangkan kepada ayahku dan ibuku tidak kuberitahukan, masakan kepada engkau akan kuberitahukan?"

TL: Maka bini Simsonpun menangis-nangis, serta katanya: Bahwa nyatalah engkau benci juga akan daku dan tiada engkau mengasihi akan daku, karena engkau sudah mengatakan suatu penerka kepada bani bangsaku, maka tiada engkau memberitahu aku artinya. Maka sahutnya: Bahwasanya aku tiada memberitahu artinya jikalau kepada ibu bapaku sekalipun, masakan aku memberitahu dia kepadamu!

MILT: Lalu istri Simson menangis di hadapannya dan berkata, "Sesungguhnya engkau membenci aku, dan tidak mengasihi aku. Suatu teka-teki kaukatakan kepada orang-orang sebangsaku, tetapi engkau tidak memberitahukan jawabannya kepadaku." Engkau mengemukakan suatu teka-teki kepada kaum sebangsaku, tetapi tidak mau memberitahukan djawabnja kepadaku".
