Now Elisha<477> spoke<1696> to the woman<802> whose<834> son<1121> he had restored<2421> to life<2421>, saying<559>, "Arise<6965> and go<1980> with your household<1004>, and sojourn<1481> wherever<834> you can sojourn<1481>; for the LORD<3068> has called<7121> for a famine<7458>, and it will even<1571> come<935> on the land<776> for seven<7651> years<8141>."
So the woman<802> arose<6965> and did<6213> according to the word<1697> of the man<376> of God<430>, and she went<1980> with her household<1004> and sojourned<1481> in the land<776> of the Philistines<6430> seven<7651> years<8141>.
At the end<7097> of seven<7651> years<8141>, the woman<802> returned<7725> from the land<776> of the Philistines<6430>; and she went<3318> out to appeal<6817> to the king<4428> for her house<1004> and for her field<7704>.
Now the king<4428> was talking<1696> with Gehazi<1522>, the servant<5288> of the man<376> of God<430>, saying<559>, "Please<4994> relate<5608> to me all<3605> the great<1419> things<1419> that Elisha<477> has done<6213>."
As he was relating<5608> to the king<4428> how<834> he had restored<2421> to life<2421> the one who was dead<4191>, behold<2009>, the woman<802> whose<834> son<1121> he had restored<2421> to life<2421> appealed<6817> to the king<4428> for her house<1004> and for her field<7704>. And Gehazi<1522> said<559>, "My lord<113>, O king<4428>, this<2088> is the woman<802> and this<2088> is her son<1121>, whom<834> Elisha<477> restored<2421> to life<2421>."
When the king<4428> asked<7592> the woman<802>, she related<5608> it to him. So the king<4428> appointed<5414> for her a certain<259> officer<5631>, saying<559>, "Restore<7725> all<3605> that was hers and all<3605> the produce<8393> of the field<7704> from the day<3117> that she left<5800> the land<776> even until<5704> now<6258>."
Then Elisha<477> came<935> to Damascus<1834>. Now Ben-hadad<1130> king<4428> of Aram<758> was sick<2470>, and it was told<5046> him, saying<559>, "The man<376> of God<430> has come<935> here<5704><2008>."
The king<4428> said<559> to Hazael<2371>, "Take<3947> a gift<4503> in your hand<3027> and go<1980> to meet<7122> the man<376> of God<430>, and inquire<1875> of the LORD<3068> by him, saying<559>, 'Will I recover<2421> from this<2088> sickness<2483>?'"
So Hazael<2371> went<1980> to meet<7122> him and took<3947> a gift<4503> in his hand<3027>, even every<3605> kind of good<2898> thing<2898> of Damascus<1834>, forty<705> camels'<1581> loads<4853>; and he came<935> and stood<5975> before<6440> him and said<559>, "Your son<1121> Ben-hadad<1130> king<4428> of Aram<758> has sent<7971> me to you, saying<559>, 'Will I recover<2421> from this<2088> sickness<2483>?'"
Then Elisha<477> said<559> to him, "Go<1980>, say<559> to him, 'You will surely<2421> recover<2421>,' but the LORD<3068> has shown<7200> me that he will certainly<4191> die<4191>."
He fixed<5975> his gaze<6440> steadily<7760> on him until<5704> he was ashamed<954>, and the man<376> of God<430> wept<1058>.
Hazael<2371> said<559>, "Why<4069> does my lord<113> weep<1058>?" Then he answered<559>, "Because<3588> I know<3045> the evil<7463> that you will do<6213> to the sons<1121> of Israel<3478>: their strongholds<4013> you will set<7971> on fire<784>, and their young<970> men<970> you will kill<2026> with the sword<2719>, and their little<5768> ones<5768> you will dash<7376> in pieces<7376>, and their women<2030> with child<2030> you will rip<1234> up."
Then Hazael<2371> said<559>, "But what<4100> is your servant<5650>, who is but a dog<3611>, that he should do<6213> this<2088> great<1419> thing<1697>?" And Elisha<477> answered<559>, "The LORD<3068> has shown<7200> me that you will be king<4428> over<5921> Aram<758>."
So he departed<1980> from Elisha<477> and returned<935> to his master<113>, who said<559> to him, "What<4100> did Elisha<477> say<559> to you?" And he answered<559>, "He told<559> me that you would surely<2421> recover<2421>."
On the following<4283> day<4283>, he took<3947> the cover<4345> and dipped<2881> it in water<4325> and spread<6566> it on his face<6440>, so that he died<4191>. And Hazael<2371> became<4427> king<4427> in his place<8478>.
Now in the fifth<2568> year<8141> of Joram<3141> the son<1121> of Ahab<256> king<4428> of Israel<3478>, Jehoshaphat<3092> being then the king<4428> of Judah<3063>, Jehoram<3088> the son<1121> of Jehoshaphat<3092> king<4428> of Judah<3063> became<4427> king<4427>.
He was thirty-two<7970><8147> years<8141> old<1121> when he became<4427> king<4427>, and he reigned<4427> eight<8083> years<8141> in Jerusalem<3389>.
He walked<1980> in the way<1870> of the kings<4428> of Israel<3478>, just<3512> as the house<1004> of Ahab<256> had done<6213>, for the daughter<1323> of Ahab<256> became<1961> his wife<802>; and he did<6213> evil<7451> in the sight<5869> of the LORD<3068>.
However, the LORD<3068> was not willing<14> to destroy<7843> Judah<3063>, for the sake<4616> of David<1732> His servant<5650>, since<3512> He had promised<559> him to give<5414> a lamp<5215> to him through his sons<1121> always<3605><3117>.
In his days<3117> Edom<112> revolted<6586> from under<8478> the hand<3027> of Judah<3063>, and made<4427> a king<4427> over<5921> themselves.
Then Joram<3141> crossed<5674> over<5674> to Zair<6811>, and all<3605> his chariots<7393> with him. And he arose<6965> by night<3915> and struck<5221> the Edomites<112> who had surrounded<5437> him and the captains<8269> of the chariots<7393>; but his army<5971> fled<5127> to their tents<168>.
So Edom<112> revolted<6586> against<4480><8478><3027> Judah<3063> to this<2088> day<3117>. Then<227> Libnah<3841> revolted<6586> at the same<1931> time<6256>.
The rest<3499> of the acts<1697> of Joram<3141> and all<3605> that he did<6213>, are they not written<3789> in the Book<5612> of the Chronicles<1697><3117> of the Kings<4428> of Judah<3063>?
So Joram<3141> slept<7901> with his fathers<1> and was buried<6912> with his fathers<1> in the city<5892> of David<1732>; and Ahaziah<274> his son<1121> became<4427> king<4427> in his place<8478>.
In the twelfth<8147><6240> year<8141> of Joram<3141> the son<1121> of Ahab<256> king<4428> of Israel<3478>, Ahaziah<274> the son<1121> of Jehoram<3088> king<4428> of Judah<3063> began to reign<4427>.
Ahaziah<274> was twenty-two<6242><8147> years<8141> old<1121> when he became<4427> king<4427>, and he reigned<4427> one<259> year<8141> in Jerusalem<3389>. And his mother's<517> name<8034> was Athaliah<6271> the granddaughter<1323> of Omri<6018> king<4428> of Israel<3478>.
He walked<1980> in the way<1870> of the house<1004> of Ahab<256> and did<6213> evil<7451> in the sight<5869> of the LORD<3068>, like the house<1004> of Ahab<256> had done, because<3588> he was a son-in-law<2860> of the house<1004> of Ahab<256>.
Then he went<1980> with Joram<3141> the son<1121> of Ahab<256> to war<4421> against<5973> Hazael<2371> king<4428> of Aram<758> at Ramoth-gilead<7433>, and the Arameans<761> wounded<5221> Joram<3141>.
So King<4428> Joram<3141> returned<7725> to be healed<7495> in Jezreel<3157> of the wounds<4347> which<834> the Arameans<761> had inflicted<5221> on him at Ramah<7414> when he fought<3898> against<854> Hazael<2371> king<4428> of Aram<758>. Then Ahaziah<274> the son<1121> of Jehoram<3088> king<4428> of Judah<3063> went<3381> down<3381> to see<7200> Joram<3141> the son<1121> of Ahab<256> in Jezreel<3157> because<3588> he was sick<2470>.
