2Why <04069> does no <0369> one <0376> challenge me when I come <0935>? Why does no <0369> one respond <06030> when I call <07121>? Is my hand <03027> too weak <07114> to deliver <06304> you? Do I lack <0369> the power <03581> to rescue <05337> you? Look <02005>, with a mere shout <01606> I can dry up <02717> the sea <03220>; I can turn <07760> streams <05104> into a desert <04057>, so the fish <01710> rot away <0887> and die <04191> from lack of water <06772>.
3I can clothe <03847> the sky <08064> in darkness <06940>; I can cover <03682> <07760> it with sackcloth <08242>.”
4The sovereign Lord <0136> has given <05414> me the capacity to be his spokesman <03928> <03956>, so that I know <03045> how to help <05790> the weary <03287>. He wakes <05782> me up <05782> every morning <01242> <01242>; he makes <05782> me alert <05782> so I can listen attentively <08085> <0241> as disciples <03928> do.
5The sovereign <0136> Lord <03068> has spoken <0241> <06605> to me clearly <0241> <06605>; I <0595> have not <03808> rebelled <04784>, I have not <03808> turned <05472> back <0268>.
6I offered <05414> my back <01460> to those who attacked <05221>, my jaws <03895> to those who tore out <04803> my beard; I did not <03808> hide <05641> my face <06440> from insults <03639> and spitting <07536>.
7But the sovereign <0136> Lord <03069> helps <05826> me, so <03651> <05921> I am not <03808> humiliated <03637>. For that reason <03651> <05921> I am steadfastly <02496> resolved <06440> <07760>; I know <03045> I will not <03808> be put to shame <0954>.
8The one who <04310> vindicates <06663> me is close <07138> by. Who dares to argue <07378> with <0854> me? Let us confront <05975> each other <03162>! Who <04310> is my accuser <04941> <01167>? Let him challenge <05066> me!
9Look <02005>, the sovereign Lord <0136> helps <05826> me. Who <01931> <04310> dares to condemn <07561> me? Look <02005>, all <03605> of them will wear out <01086> like clothes <0899>; a moth <06211> will eat <0398> away at them.
10Who <04310> among you fears <03373> the Lord <03068>? Who obeys <06963> <08085> his servant <05650>? Whoever <0834> walks in <01980> deep darkness <02825>, without <0369> light <05051>, should trust <0982> in the name <08034> of the Lord <03068> and rely <08172> on his God <0430>.
11Look <02005>, all <03605> of you who start <06919> a fire <0784> and who equip <0247> yourselves with flaming arrows <02131>, walk <01980> in the light <0217> of the fire <0784> you started and among the flaming arrows <01197> you ignited <02131>! This <02063> is what you will receive <01961> from me <03027>: you will lie down <07901> in a place of pain <04620>.
