2in Shiloh <07887> in the land <0776> of Canaan <03667> and said <0559>, “The Lord <03068> told <06680> Moses <04872> to assign <05414> us cities <05892> in which to live <03427> along with the grazing areas <04054> for our cattle <0929>.”
3So the Israelites <03478> <01121> assigned <05414> these <0428> cities <05892> and their grazing areas <04054> to the Levites <03881> from their own holdings <05159>, as the Lord <03068> had instructed <06310>.
4The first lot <01486> belonged <03318> to the Kohathite <06956> clans <04940>. The Levites <03881> who were <01961> descendants <01121> of Aaron <0175> the priest <03548> were allotted <01486> thirteen <06240> <07969> cities <05892> from <04480> the tribes <04294> of Judah <03063>, Simeon <08099>, and Benjamin <01144>.
5The rest <03498> of Kohath’s <06955> descendants <01121> were allotted <01486> ten <06235> cities <05892> from the clans <04940> of the tribe <04294> of Ephraim <0669>, and from the tribe <04294> of Dan <01835> and the half-tribe <04294> <02677> of Manasseh <04519>.
6Gershon’s <01648> descendants <01121> were allotted <01486> thirteen <06240> <07969> cities <05892> from the clans <04940> of the tribe <04294> of Issachar <03485>, and from the tribes <04294> of Asher <0836> and Naphtali <05321> and the half-tribe <04294> <02677> of Manasseh <04519> in Bashan <01316>.
7Merari’s <04847> descendants <01121> by their clans <04940> were allotted twelve <06240> <08147> cities <05892> from the tribes <04294> of Reuben <07205>, Gad <01410>, and Zebulun <02074>.
8So the Israelites <03478> <01121> assigned <05414> to the Levites <03881> by lot <01486> these <0428> cities <05892> and their grazing areas <04054>, as <0834> the Lord <03068> had instructed <06680> Moses <04872>.
9They assigned <05414> from the tribes <04294> of Judah <03063> <01121> and Simeon <08095> <01121> the cities <05892> listed <08034> <07121> below.
10They were assigned to the Kohathite <06956> clans <04940> of the Levites <03878> <01121> who were <01961> descendants <01121> of Aaron <0175>, for <03588> the first <07223> lot <01486> belonged <01961> to them <01992>.
11They <01992> assigned <05414> them Kiriath Arba <07153> (Arba was the father <01> of Anak <06061>), that <01931> is, Hebron <02275>, in the hill country <02022> of Judah <03063>, along with <0854> its surrounding <05439> grazing areas <04054>.
12(Now the city’s <05892> fields <07704> and surrounding towns <02691> they had assigned <05414> to Caleb <03612> son <01121> of Jephunneh <03312> as his property <0272>.)
13So to the descendants <01121> of Aaron <0175> the priest <03548> they assigned <05414> Hebron <02275> (a city <05892> of refuge <04733> for one who committed manslaughter <07523>), Libnah <03841>,
14Jattir <03492>, Eshtemoa <0851>,
15Holon <02473>, Debir <01688>,
16Ain <05871>, Juttah <03194>, and Beth Shemesh <01053>, along with the grazing areas <04054> of each– a total of nine <08672> cities <05892> taken from these <0428> two <08147> tribes <07626>.
17From the tribe <04294> of Benjamin <01144> they assigned <04054> Gibeon <01391>, Geba <01387>,
18Anathoth <06068>, and Almon <05960>, along with the grazing areas <04054> of each– a total of four <0702> cities <05892>.
19The priests <03548> descended <01121> from Aaron <0175> received thirteen <06240> <07969> cities <05892> and their grazing areas <04054>.
20The rest <03498> of the Kohathite <06955> <01121> clans <04940> of the Levites <03881> were <01961> allotted <01486> cities <05892> from the tribe <04294> of Ephraim <0669>.
21They assigned <05414> them Shechem <07927> (a city <05892> of refuge <04733> for one who committed manslaughter <07523>) in the hill country <02022> of Ephraim <0669>, Gezer <01507>,
22Kibzaim <06911>, and Beth Horon <01032>, along with the grazing areas <04054> <04054> of each– a total of four <0702> cities <05892>.
23From the tribe <04294> of Dan <01835> they assigned Eltekeh <0514>, Gibbethon <01405>,
24Aijalon <0357>, and Gath Rimmon <01667>, along with the grazing areas <04054> of each <04054>– a total of four <0702> cities <05892>.
25From the half-tribe <04294> <04276> of Manasseh <04519> they assigned Taanach <08590> and Gath Rimmon <01667>, along with the grazing areas <04054> <04054> of each– a total of two <08147> cities <05892>.
26The rest <03498> of the Kohathite <06955> <01121> clans <04940> received ten <06235> cities <05892> and their grazing areas <04054>.
27They assigned to the Gershonite <01648> clans <04940> of the Levites <03881> the following cities: from the half-tribe <04294> <02677> of Manasseh <04519>: Golan <01474> in Bashan <01316> (a city <05892> of refuge <04733> for one who committed manslaughter <07523>) and Beeshtarah <01203>, along with the grazing areas <04054> of each– a total of two <08147> cities <05892>;
28from the tribe <04294> of Issachar <03485>: Kishon <07191>, Daberath <01705>,
29Jarmuth <03412>, and En Gannim <05873>, along with the grazing areas <04054> of each <04054>– a total of four <0702> cities <05892>;
30from the tribe <04294> of Asher <0836>: Mishal <04861>, Abdon <05658>,
31Helkath <02520>, and Rehob <07340>, along with the grazing areas <04054> of each <04054>– a total of four <0702> cities <05892>;
32from the tribe <04294> of Naphtali <05321>: Kedesh <06943> in Galilee <01551> (a city <05892> of refuge <04733> for one who committed manslaughter <07523>), Hammoth Dor <02576>, and Kartan <07178>, along <0853> with the grazing areas <04054> of each– a total of three <07969> cities <05892>.
33The Gershonite <01649> clans <04940> received thirteen <06240> <07969> cities <05892> and their grazing areas <04054>.
34They assigned to the Merarite <04847> <01121> clans <04940> (the remaining <03498> Levites <03881>) the following cities <04054>: from the tribe <04294> of Zebulun <02074>: Jokneam <03362>, Kartah <07177>,
35Dimnah <01829>, and Nahalal <05096>, along with the grazing areas <04054> <04054> of each– a total of four <0702> cities <05892>;
36from the tribe <04294> of Reuben <07205>: Bezer <01221>, Jahaz <03096>,
37Kedemoth <06932>, and Mephaath <04158>, along with the grazing areas <04054> of each <04054>– a total of four <0702> cities <05892>;
38from the tribe <04294> of Gad <01410>: Ramoth <07433> in Gilead <01568> (a city <05892> of refuge <04733> for one who committed manslaughter <07523>), Mahanaim <04266>,
39Heshbon <02809>, and Jazer <03270>, along with the grazing areas <04054> of each <04054>– a total <03605> of four <0702> cities <05892>.
40The Merarite <04847> <01121> clans <04940> (the remaining <03498> Levites <03881>) were <01961> allotted <01486> twelve <06240> <08147> cities <05892>.
41The Levites <03881> received within <08432> the land <05892> owned <0272> by the Israelites <03478> <01121> forty-eight <08083> <0705> cities <05892> in all <03605> and their grazing areas <04054>.
42Each <05892> of these <0428> cities <05892> <05892> had grazing areas <04054> around <05439> it; they were alike <03651> in this <0428> regard.
43So the Lord <03068> gave <05414> Israel <03478> all <03605> the land <0776> he had solemnly promised <07650> to their ancestors <01>, and they conquered <03423> it and lived <03427> in it.
44The Lord <03068> made <05117> them secure <05117>, in fulfillment <05439> of all <03605> he had solemnly promised <07650> their ancestors <01>. None <0376> <03808> of their enemies <0341> could resist <05975> them.
45Not one <03808> of the Lord’s <03068> faithful <02896> promises <01697> to <0413> the family <01004> of Israel <03478> was left unfulfilled <05307>; every <03605> <03605> one was realized <0935>.
