2On the first day of the first month you are to set up the Tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting.
3Put the Ark of the Testimony in it and screen the Ark with the curtain.
4Bring in the table and lay it; then bring in the lampstand and mount its lamps.
5Then set the gold altar of incense in front of the Ark of the Testimony and put the screen of the entrance of the Tabernacle in place.
6Place the altar of whole-offering in front of the entrance of the Tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting,
7and the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it.
8Set up the court all round, and put in place the screen at the entrance of the court.
9With the anointing oil anoint the Tabernacle and everything in it, thus consecrating it and all its furnishings; it will then be holy.
10Anoint the altar of whole-offering and all its vessels, thus consecrating it; it will be most holy.
11Anoint the basin and its stand and consecrate it.
12Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting and wash them with the water.
13Then clothe Aaron with the sacred vestments, anoint him, and consecrate him to be my priest.
14Then bring forward his sons, clothe them in tunics,
15and anoint them as you anointed their father; and they will be my priests. Their anointing inaugurates a hereditary priesthood for all time.
16Moses did everything exactly as the LORD had commanded him.
17In the first month of the second year, on the first day of that month, the Tabernacle was set up.
18Moses erected the Tabernacle: he put the sockets in place, inserted the frames, fixed the crossbars, and set up the posts.
19He spread the tent over the Tabernacle and fixed the covering of the tent on top of that, as the LORD had commanded him.
20He took the Testimony and put it into the Ark, inserted the poles in the Ark, and put the cover over the top of the Ark.
21He brought the Ark into the Tabernacle, set up the curtain of the screen, and so screened the Ark of the Testimony, as the LORD had commanded him.
22He put the table in the Tent of Meeting on the north side of the Tabernacle outside the curtain
23and arranged bread on it before the LORD, as the LORD had commanded him.
24He set the lampstand in the Tent of Meeting opposite the table at the south side of the Tabernacle
25and mounted the lamps before the LORD, as the LORD had commanded him.
26He set up the gold altar in the Tent of Meeting in front of the curtain
27and burnt fragrant incense on it, as the LORD had commanded him.
28He set up the screen at the entrance of the Tabernacle,
29fixed the altar of whole-offering at the entrance of the Tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting, and offered on it whole-offerings and grain-offerings, as the LORD had commanded him.
30He set up the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar and put water there for washing.
31Moses and Aaron and Aaron's sons used to wash their hands and feet
32when they entered the Tent of Meeting or approached the altar, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
33He set up the court all round the Tabernacle and the altar, and put the screen at the entrance of the court. Moses completed the work,
34and the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the Tabernacle.
35Moses was unable to enter the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud had settled on it and the glory of the LORD filled the Tabernacle.
36At every stage of their journey, when the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle, the Israelites used to break camp;
37but if the cloud did not lift from the Tabernacle, they used not to break camp until such time as it did lift.
38For the cloud of the LORD was over the Tabernacle by day, and there was fire in the cloud by night, and all the Israelites could see it at every stage of their journey.
