Woe<1945>, O Ariel<740>, Ariel<740> the city<7151> where David<1732> once camped<2583>! Add<3254> year<8141> to year<8141>, observe<5362> your feasts<2282> on schedule<5362>.
I will bring<6693> distress<6693> to Ariel<740>, And she will be a city of lamenting<8386> and mourning<592>; And she will be like an Ariel<740> to me.
I will camp<2583> against<5921> you encircling<1754> you, And I will set<6696> siegeworks<4674> against<5921> you, And I will raise<6965> up battle<4694> towers<4694> against<5921> you.
Then you will be brought<8213> low<8213>; From the earth<776> you will speak<1696>, And from the dust<6083> where you are prostrate<7817> Your words<565> will come. Your voice<6963> will also be like that of a spirit<178> from the ground<776>, And your speech<565> will whisper<6850> from the dust<6083>.
But the multitude<1995> of your enemies<2114> will become<1961> like fine<1851> dust<80>, And the multitude<1995> of the ruthless<6184> ones<6184> like the chaff<4671> which blows<5674> away<5674>; And it will happen<1961> instantly<6621>, suddenly<6597>.
From the LORD<3068> of hosts<6635> you will be punished<6485> with thunder<7482> and earthquake<7494> and loud<1419> noise<6963>, With whirlwind<5492> and tempest<5591> and the flame<3851> of a consuming<398> fire<784>.
And the multitude<1995> of all<3605> the nations<1471> who wage<6633> war<6633> against<5921> Ariel<740>, Even all<3605> who wage<6633> war<6633> against her and her stronghold<4685>, and who distress<6693> her, Will be like a dream<2472>, a vision<2377> of the night<3915>.
It will be as when<3512> a hungry<7457> man<7457> dreams<2492>-- And behold<2009>, he is eating<398>; But when he awakens<7019>, his hunger<5315> is not satisfied<7386>, Or as when<3512> a thirsty<6771> man<6771> dreams<2492>-- And behold<2009>, he is drinking<8354>, But when he awakens<7019>, behold<2009>, he is faint<5889> And his thirst<5315> is not quenched<8264>. Thus<3651> the multitude<1995> of all<3605> the nations<1471> will be Who wage<6633> war<6633> against<5921> Mount<2022> Zion<6726>.
Be delayed<4102> and wait<8539>, Blind<8173> yourselves and be blind<8173>; They become<7937> drunk<7937>, but not with wine<3196>, They stagger<5128>, but not with strong<7941> drink<7941>.
For the LORD<3068> has poured<5258> over<5921> you a spirit<7307> of deep<8639> sleep<8639>, He has shut<6105> your eyes<5869>, the prophets<5030>; And He has covered<3680> your heads<7218>, the seers<2374>.
The entire<3605> vision<2380> will be to you like the words<1697> of a sealed<2856> book<5612>, which<834> when they give<5414> it to the one who is literate<3045><5612>, saying<559>, "Please<4994> read<7121> this<2088>," he will say<559>, "I cannot<3201><3808>, for it is sealed<2856>."
Then the book<5612> will be given<5414> to the one who<834> is illiterate<3808><3045><5612>, saying<559>, "Please<4994> read<7121> this<2088>." And he will say<559>, "I cannot<3808> read<3045><5612>."
Then the Lord<136> said<559>, "Because<3282><3588> this<2088> people<5971> draw<5066> near<5066> with their words<6310> And honor<3513> Me with their lip<8193> service<8193>, But they remove<7368> their hearts<3820> far<7368> from Me, And their reverence<3372> for Me consists<1961> of tradition<4687><376> learned<3925> by rote,
Therefore<3651> behold<2009>, I will once again<3254> deal<6381> marvelously<6381> with this<2088> people<5971>, wondrously<6381> marvelous<6381>; And the wisdom<2451> of their wise<2450> men<2450> will perish<6>, And the discernment<998> of their discerning<995> men will be concealed<5641>."
Woe<1945> to those who deeply<6009> hide<5641> their plans<6098> from the LORD<3068>, And whose deeds<4639> are done in a dark<4285> place<4285>, And they say<559>, "Who<4310> sees<7200> us?" or "Who<4310> knows<3045> us?"
You turn<2016> things around<2016>! Shall the potter<3335> be considered<2803> as equal with the clay<2563>, That what<4639> is made<4639> would say<559> to its maker<6213>, "He did not make<6213> me"; Or what<3336> is formed<3335> say<559> to him who formed<3335> it, "He has no<3808> understanding<995>"?
Is it not yet<5750> just a little<4592> while<4592> Before Lebanon<3844> will be turned<7725> into a fertile<3759> field<3759>, And the fertile<3759> field<3759> will be considered<2803> as a forest<3293>?
On that day<3117> the deaf<2795> will hear<8085> words<1697> of a book<5612>, And out of their gloom<652> and darkness<2822> the eyes<5869> of the blind<5787> will see<7200>.
The afflicted<6035> also will increase<3254> their gladness<8057> in the LORD<3068>, And the needy<34> of mankind<120> will rejoice<1523> in the Holy<6918> One<6918> of Israel<3478>.
For the ruthless<6184> will come<656> to an end<656> and the scorner<3917> will be finished<3615>, Indeed all<3605> who are intent<8245> on doing<8245> evil<205> will be cut<3772> off<3772>;
Who cause a person<120> to be indicted<2398> by a word<1697>, And ensnare<6983> him who adjudicates<3198> at the gate<8179>, And defraud<5186> the one<6662> in the right<6662> with meaningless<8414> arguments<8414>.
Therefore<3651> thus<3541> says<559> the LORD<3068>, who<834> redeemed<6299> Abraham<85>, concerning<413> the house<1004> of Jacob<3290>: "Jacob<3290> shall not now<6258> be ashamed<954>, nor<3808> shall his face<6440> now<6258> turn<2357> pale<2357>;
But when<3588> he sees<7200> his children<3206>, the work<4639> of My hands<3027>, in his midst<7130>, They will sanctify<6942> My name<8034>; Indeed, they will sanctify<6942> the Holy<6918> One<6918> of Jacob<3290> And will stand<6206> in awe<6206> of the God<430> of Israel<3478>.
"Those who err<8582> in mind<7307> will know<3045> the truth<998>, And those who criticize<7279> will accept<3925> instruction<3948>.
