2Amos said <0559>: “The Lord <03068> comes roaring out <07580> of Zion <06726>; from Jerusalem <03389> he comes <05414> bellowing <06963>! The shepherds <07462>’ pastures <04999> wilt <056>; the summit <07218> of Carmel <03760> withers <03001>.”
3This is what <03541> the Lord <03068> says <0559>: “Because Damascus <01834> has committed <06588> three <07969> crimes <06588>– make that four <0702>!– I will not <03808> revoke <07725> my decree of judgment. They ripped <01758> through Gilead <01568> like threshing sledges <02742> with iron teeth <01270>.
4So I will set <07971> Hazael’s <02371> house <01004> on fire <0784>; fire will consume <0398> Ben Hadad’s <01130> fortresses <0759>.
5I will break <07665> the bar on the gate <01280> of Damascus <01834>. I will remove <03772> the ruler <03427> from Wicked <0206> Valley <01237>, the one who holds <08551> the royal scepter <07626> from Beth <01004> Eden <05730>. The people <05971> of Aram <0758> will be deported <01540> to Kir <07024>.” The Lord <03068> has spoken <0559>!
6This is what <03541> the Lord <03068> says <0559>: “Because <05921> Gaza <05804> has committed three <07969> crimes <06588>– make that four <0702>!– I will not <03808> revoke <07725> my decree of judgment. They deported <01540> a whole <08003> community <01546> and sold <05462> them to Edom <0123>.
7So I will set <07971> Gaza’s <05804> city wall <02346> on fire <0784>; fire will consume <0398> her fortresses <0759>.
8I will remove <03772> the ruler <03427> from Ashdod <0795>, the one who holds <08551> the royal scepter <07626> from Ashkelon <0831>. I will strike Ekron <06138> with my hand <03027>; the rest <07611> of the Philistines <06430> will also die <06>.” The sovereign <0136> Lord <03069> has spoken <0559>!
9This is what <03541> the Lord <03068> says <0559>: “Because <05921> Tyre <06865> has committed three <07969> crimes <06588>– make that four <0702>!– I will not <03808> revoke <07725> my decree of judgment. They sold a whole <08003> community <01546> to Edom <0123>; they failed to observe <02142> a treaty <01285> of brotherhood <0251>.
10So I will set <07971> fire <0784> to Tyre’s <06865> city wall <02346>; fire will consume <0398> her fortresses <0759>.”
11This is what <03541> the Lord <03069> says <0559>: “Because Edom <0123> has committed three <07969> crimes <06588>– make that four <0702>!– I will not <03808> revoke <07725> my decree of judgment. He chased <07291> his brother <0251> with a sword <02719>; he wiped out <07843> his allies. In his anger <0639> he tore <02963> them apart <02963> without stopping to rest <05703>; in his fury <05678> he relentlessly <05331> <08104> attacked them.
12So I will set <07971> Teman <08487> on fire <0784>; fire will consume <0398> Bozrah’s <01224> fortresses <0759>.”
13This is what <03541> the Lord <03068> says <0559>: “Because <05921> the Ammonites <05983> <01121> have committed three <07969> crimes <06588>– make that four <0702>!– I will not <03808> revoke <07725> my decree of <05921> judgment. They ripped open <01234> Gilead’s <01568> pregnant women <02030> so <04616> they could expand <07337> their territory <01366>.
14So I will set <03341> fire <0784> to Rabbah’s <07237> city wall <02346>; fire will consume <0398> her fortresses <0759>. War cries <08643> will be heard on the day <03117> of battle <04421>; a strong gale <05591> will blow on the day <03117> of the windstorm <05492>.
15Ammon’s king <04428> will be deported <01473> <01980>; he and his <01931> officials <08269> will be carried off together <03162>.” The Lord <03068> has spoken <0559>!
