Praise <01984> the Lord! Give thanks <03034> to the Lord <03068>, for <03588> he is good <02896>, and his loyal love <02617> endures <05769>!
Who <04310> can adequately recount <04448> the Lord’s <03068> mighty acts <01369>, or relate <08085> all <03605> his praiseworthy <08416> deeds?
How blessed <0835> are those who promote <08104> justice <04941>, and do <06213> what is right <06666> all <03605> the time <06256>!
Remember <02142> me, O Lord <03068>, when you show favor <07522> to your people <05971>! Pay attention <06485> to me, when you deliver <03444>,
so I may see <07200> the prosperity <02896> of your chosen ones <0972>, rejoice <08055> along with your nation <01471>, and boast <01984> along with <05973> the people who belong to you <05159>.
We have sinned <02398> like <05973> our ancestors <01>; we have done wrong <05753>, we have done evil <07561>.
Our ancestors <01> in Egypt <04714> failed <03808> to appreciate <07919> your miraculous deeds <06381>, they failed <03808> to remember <02142> your many <07230> acts of loyal love <02617>, and they rebelled <04784> at <05921> the sea <03220>, by the Red <05488> Sea <03220>.
Yet he delivered <03467> them for the sake <04616> of his reputation <08034>, that he might reveal <03045> his power <01369>.
He shouted <01605> at the Red <05488> Sea <03220> and it dried up <02717>; he led <01980> them through the deep <08415> water as if it were a desert <04057>.
He delivered <03467> them from the power <03027> of the one who hated <08130> them, and rescued <01350> them from the power <03027> of the enemy <0341>.
The water <04325> covered <03680> their enemies <06862>; not <03808> even one <0259> of them <01992> survived <03498>.
They believed <0539> his promises <01697>; they sang <07891> praises <08416> to him.
They quickly <04116> forgot <07911> what he had done <04639>; they did not <03808> wait <02442> for his instructions <06098>.
In the wilderness <04057> they had an insatiable <08378> craving <0183> for meat; they challenged <05254> God <0410> in the desert <03452>.
He granted <05414> their <01992> request <07596>, then struck <07971> them <05315> with a disease <07332>.
In the camp <04264> they resented <07065> Moses <04872>, and Aaron <0175>, the Lord’s <03068> holy priest <06918>.
The earth <0776> opened <06605> up <05921> and swallowed <01104> Dathan <01885>; it engulfed <03680> the group <05712> led by Abiram <048>.
Fire <0784> burned <01197> their group <05712>; the flames <03852> scorched <03857> the wicked <07563>.
They made <06213> an image of a calf <05695> at Horeb <02722>, and worshiped <07812> a metal idol <04541>.
They traded <04171> their majestic <03519> God for the image <08403> of an ox <07794> that eats <0398> grass <06212>.
They rejected <07911> the God <0410> who delivered <03467> them, the one who performed <06213> great <01419> deeds in Egypt <04714>,
amazing feats <06381> in the land <0776> of Ham <02526>, mighty <03372> acts by <05921> the Red <05488> Sea <03220>.
He threatened <0559> to destroy <08045> them, but <03884> Moses <04872>, his chosen one <0972>, interceded <06440> <06556> <05975> with him and turned back <07725> his destructive <07843> anger <02534>.
They rejected <03988> the fruitful <02532> land <0776>; they did not <03808> believe <0539> his promise <01697>.
They grumbled <07279> in their tents <0168>; they did not <03808> obey <06963> <08085> the Lord <03068>.
So he made a solemn vow <03027> <05375> that he would make <05307> them <01992> die <05307> in the desert <04057>,
make <05307> their descendants <02233> die <05307> among the nations <01471>, and scatter <02219> them among foreign lands <0776>.
They worshiped <06775> Baal of Peor <01187>, and ate <0398> sacrifices offered <02077> to the dead <04191>.
They made the Lord angry <03707> by their actions <04611>, and a plague <04046> broke out <06555> among them.
Phinehas <06372> took a stand <05975> and intervened <06419>, and the plague <04046> subsided <06113>.
This brought <02803> him a reward <06666>, an eternal gift <05769> <05704> <01755> <01755>.
They made <07107> him angry <07107> by <05921> the waters <04325> of Meribah <04808>, and Moses <04872> suffered <03415> because of <05668> them,
for <03588> they aroused <04784> his temper <07307>, and he spoke <0981> rashly <08193>.
They did not <03808> destroy <08045> the nations <05971>, as <0834> the Lord <03069> had commanded <0559> them <01992> to do.
They mixed <06148> in with the nations <01471> and learned <03925> their ways <04639>.
They worshiped <05647> their idols <06091>, which became <01961> a snare <04170> to them <01992>.
They sacrificed <02076> their sons <01121> and daughters <01323> to demons <07700>.
They shed <08210> innocent <05355> blood <01818>– the blood <01818> of their sons <01121> and daughters <01323>, whom <0834> they sacrificed <02076> to the idols <06091> of Canaan <03667>. The land <0776> was polluted <02610> by bloodshed <01818>.
They were defiled <02930> by their deeds <04639>, and unfaithful <02181> in their actions <04611>.
So the Lord <03068> was angry <0639> <02734> with his people <05971> and despised <08581> the people who belong to him <05159>.
He handed <03027> <05414> them over <03027> <05414> to the nations <01471>, and those who hated <08130> them ruled <04910> over them.
Their enemies <0341> oppressed <03905> them; they were subject <03665> to <08478> their authority <03027>.
Many <07227> times <06471> he delivered <05337> them, but they <01992> had a rebellious <04784> attitude <06098>, and degraded <04355> themselves by their sin <05771>.
Yet he took notice <07200> of their distress <06862>, when he heard <08085> their cry <07440> for help.
He remembered <02142> his covenant <01285> with them <01992>, and relented <05162> because of his great <07230> loyal love <02617>.
He caused <05414> all <03605> their conquerors <07617> to have pity <07356> on them.
Deliver <03467> us, O Lord <03068>, our God <0430>! Gather <06908> us from among <04480> the nations <01471>! Then we will give thanks <03034> to your holy <06944> name <08034>, and boast <07623> about your praiseworthy <08416> deeds.
The Lord <03068> God <0430> of Israel <03478> deserves praise <01288>, in <04480> the future and forevermore <05769> <05704> <05769>. Let all <03605> the people <05971> say <0559>, “We agree <0543>! Praise <01984> the Lord <03050>!”
