AYT: Ketika Firaun telah membiarkan bangsa itu pergi, Allah menuntun mereka untuk tidak melewati negeri orang Filistin, meskipun itu lebih dekat, sebab Allah berkata, “Jangan-jangan bangsa ini berubah pikiran ketika mereka melihat perang, lalu kembali ke Mesir.”


TB: Setelah Firaun membiarkan bangsa itu pergi, Allah tidak menuntun mereka melalui jalan ke negeri orang Filistin, walaupun jalan ini yang paling dekat; sebab firman Allah: "Jangan-jangan bangsa itu menyesal, apabila mereka menghadapi peperangan, sehingga mereka kembali ke Mesir."

TL: Bermula, maka jadi setelah sudah diberi Firaun orang banyak itu pergi, maka dihantar Allah akan mereka itu bukan pada jalan ke negeri orang Filistin, jikalau ia itu dekat sekalipun, karena firman Allah: Kalau-kalau orang banyak itu menyesal apabila dilihatnya perang, lalu mereka itu kembali ke Mesir.

MILT: Dan terjadilah ketika Firaun menyuruh umat itu pergi, Allah (Elohim - 0430) tidak menuntun mereka melalui jalan ke negeri orang Filistin walaupun itu dekat. Sebab Allah (Elohim - 0430) berfirman, "Jangan sampai orang-orang itu menyesal jika mereka menghadapi peperangan dan kembali ke Mesir."

FAYH: Akhirnya Firaun mengizinkan orang Israel pergi. Allah tidak membawa mereka melintasi tanah orang Filistin, meskipun jalan itu lebih pendek untuk sampai ke Negeri Perjanjian. Ia tahu bahwa orang Israel akan menjadi patah semangat kalau mereka harus pergi ke tempat tujuannya dengan berperang, sekalipun mereka meninggalkan Mesir dengan membawa senjata; dan bahwa mereka akan cenderung untuk kembali ke Mesir. Karena itu, Allah membimbing mereka melalui jalan yang melintasi padang gurun menuju Laut Teberau.
