3We ought <3784> to thank <2168> God <2316> always <3842> for <4012> you <5216>, brothers and sisters <80>, and rightly <514> so <2531>, because <3754> your <5216> faith <4102> flourishes more and more <5232> and <2532> the love <26> of each <1538> one <1520> of you <5216> all <3956> for <1519> one another <240> is ever greater <4121>.
4As a result <5620> we <2248> ourselves <846> boast <2744> about <1722> you <5213> in <1722> the churches <1577> of God <2316> for <5228> your <5216> perseverance <5281> and <2532> faith <4102> in <1722> all <3956> the persecutions <1375> and <2532> afflictions <2347> you are enduring <430>.
5This is evidence <1730> of God’s <2316> righteous <1342> judgment <2920>, to <1519> make <2661> you <5209> worthy <2661> of the kingdom <932> of God <2316>, for <5228> which <3739> in fact you are suffering <3958>.
6For <1512> it is right <1342> for <3844> God <2316> to repay with affliction <467> those who afflict <2346> you <5209>,
7and <2532> to you <5213> who are being afflicted <2346> to give rest <425> together with <3326> us <2257> when the Lord <2962> Jesus <2424> is revealed <602> from <575> heaven <3772> with <3326> his <846> mighty <1411> angels <32>.
8With <1722> flaming <5395> fire <4442> he will mete out <1325> punishment <1557> on those who do <1492> not <3361> know <1492> God <2316> and <2532> do <5219> not <3361> obey <5219> the gospel <2098> of our <2257> Lord <2962> Jesus <2424>.
9They <3748> will undergo <1349> the penalty <5099> of eternal <166> destruction <3639>, away from <575> the presence <4383> of the Lord <2962> and <2532> from <575> the glory <1391> of his <846> strength <2479>,
10when <3752> he comes <2064> to be glorified <1740> among <1722> his <846> saints <40> and <2532> admired <2296> on <1722> that <1565> day <2250> among <1722> all <3956> who have believed <4100>– and you <5209> did in fact <1909> believe <4100> our <2257> testimony <3142>.
11And <2532> in this regard we pray <4336> for <4012> you <5216> always <3842>, that <2443> our <2257> God <2316> will make <515> you <5209> worthy <515> of his calling <2821> and <2532> fulfill <4137> by <1722> his power <1411> your every <3956> desire <2107> for goodness <19> and <2532> every work <2041> of faith <4102>,
