Do not <0408> envy <07065> evil <07451> people <0376>, do not <0408> desire <0183> to be <01961> with <0854> them;
for <03588> their hearts <03820> contemplate <01897> violence <07701>, and their lips <08193> speak <01696> harm <05999>.
By wisdom <02451> a house <01004> is built <01129>, and through understanding <08394> it is established <03559>;
by knowledge <01847> its rooms <02315> are filled <04390> with all <03605> kinds of precious <03368> and pleasing <05273> treasures <01952>.
A wise <02450> warrior <01397> is strong <05797>, and a man <0376> of knowledge <01847> makes his strength <03581> stronger <0553>;
for <03588> with guidance <08458> you wage <06213> your war <04421>, and with numerous <07230> advisers <03289> there is victory <08668>.
Wisdom <02454> is unattainable <07311> for a fool <0191>; in court <08179> he does not <03808> open <06605> his mouth <06310>.
The one who plans <02803> to do evil <07489> will be called <07121> a scheming <04209> person <01167>.
A foolish <0200> scheme <02154> is sin <02403>, and the scorner <03887> is an abomination <08441> to people <0120>.
If you faint <07503> in the day <03117> of trouble <06869>, your strength <03581> is small <06862>!
Deliver <05337> those being taken away <03947> to death <04194>, and hold back <02820> those slipping <04131> to the slaughter <02027>.
If <03588> you say <0559>, “But we did not <03808> know <03045> about this <02088>,” does not <03808> the one who evaluates <08505> hearts <03826> consider <0995>? Does not the one <01931> who guards <05341> your life <05315> know <03045>? Will he <01931> not repay <07725> each person <0120> according to his deeds <06467>?
Eat <0398> honey <01706>, my child <01121>, for <03588> it is good <02896>, and honey <05317> from the honeycomb <05317> is sweet <04966> to <05921> your taste <02441>.
Likewise <03651>, know <03045> that wisdom <02451> is sweet to your soul <05315>; if <0518> you find <04672> it, you will have a future <0319>, and your hope <08615> will not <03808> be cut off <03772>.
Do not <0408> lie in wait <0693> like the wicked <07563> against the place <05116> where the righteous <06662> live; do not <0408> assault <07703> his home <07258>.
Although <03588> a righteous <06662> person may fall <05307> seven <07651> times, he gets up <06965> again, but the wicked <07563> will be brought down <03782> by calamity <07451>.
Do not <0408> rejoice <08055> when your enemy <0341> falls <05307>, and when he stumbles <03782> do not <0408> let your heart <03820> rejoice <01523>,
lest <06435> the Lord <03069> see <07200> it, and be displeased <05869> <07489>, and turn <07725> his wrath <0639> away <07725> from <05921> him.
Do not <0408> fret <02734> because of evil people <07489> or <0408> be envious <07065> of wicked people <07563>,
for <03588> the evil person <07451> has <01961> no <03808> future <0319>, and the lamp <05216> of the wicked <07563> will be extinguished <01846>.
Fear <03372> the Lord <03068>, my child <01121>, as well as <05973> the king <04428>, and do not <0408> associate <06148> <08138> with rebels <06148> <08138>,
for <03588> suddenly <06597> their destruction <0343> will overtake <06965> them, and who <04310> knows <03045> the ruinous <06365> judgment both <08147> the Lord and the king can bring?
These <0428> sayings also <01571> are from the wise <02450>: To show partiality <06440> <05234> in judgment <04941> is terrible <02896> <01077>:
The one who says <0559> to the guilty <07563>, “You <0859> are innocent <06662>,” peoples <05971> will curse <05344> him, and nations <03816> will denounce <02194> him.
But there will be delight <05276> for those who convict <03198> the guilty, and a pleasing <02896> blessing <01293> will come <0935> on <05921> them.
Like a kiss <05401> on the lips <08193> is the one who gives <07725> an honest <05228> answer <01697>.
Establish <03559> your work <04399> outside <02351> and get <06257> your fields <07704> ready <06257>; afterward <0310> build <01129> your house <01004>.
Do not <0408> be <01961> a witness <05707> against your neighbor <07453> without cause <02600>, and do not deceive <06601> with your words <08193>.
Do not <0408> say <0559>, “I will do <06213> to him just as <03651> he has done <06213> to me; I will pay <07725> him <0376> back <07725> according to what he has done <06467>.”
I passed <05674> by <05921> the field <07704> of a sluggard <06102> <0376>, by <05921> the vineyard <03754> of one <0120> who lacks <02638> wisdom <03820>.
I saw <02009> that thorns <07063> had grown up <05927> all <03605> over it, the ground <06440> was covered <03680> with weeds <02738>, and its stone <068> wall <01444> was broken down <02040>.
When I saw <02372> this, I <0595> gave <07896> careful consideration <03820> to it; I received <03947> instruction <04148> from what I saw <07200>:
“A little <04592> sleep <08142>, a little <04592> slumber <08572>, a little <04592> folding <02264> of the hands <03027> to relax <07901>,
and your poverty <07389> will come <0935> like a bandit <01980>, and your need <04270> like an armed <04043> robber.”
