You <0859> are children <01121> of the Lord <03068> your God <0430>. Do not <03808> cut <01413> yourselves or <03808> shave <07144> your forehead <05869> <0996> bald <07144> for the sake of the dead <04191>.
For <03588> you <0859> are a people <05971> holy <06918> to the Lord <03068> your God <0430>. He <03068> has chosen <0977> you to be <01961> his people <05971>, prized <05459> above all <03605> others <05971> on <05921> the face <06440> of the earth <0127>.
You must not <03808> eat <0398> any <03605> forbidden <08441> thing.
These <02063> are the animals <0929> you may eat <0398>: the ox <07794>, the sheep <07716> <03775> <07716>, the goat <05795>,
the ibex <0354>, the gazelle <06643>, the deer <03180>, the wild goat <0689>, the antelope <01788>, the wild oryx <08377>, and the mountain sheep <02169>.
You may eat <0398> any <03605> animal <0929> that has hooves <06541> divided <08157> <08156> into two <08147> parts <06541> and that chews <05927> the cud <01625>.
However <0389>, you may not <03808> eat <0398> the following animals <02088> among those that chew <05927> the cud <01625> or those that have divided <06536> hooves <06541>: the camel <01581>, the hare <0768>, and the rock badger <08227>. (Although <03588> they <01992> chew <05927> the cud <01625>, they <01992> do not <03808> have divided <06536> hooves <06541> and are therefore ritually impure <02931> to you).
Also the pig <02386> is ritually impure <02931> to you; though <03588> it has divided <06536> hooves <06541>, it <01931> does not <03808> chew the cud <01625>. You <01931> may not <03808> eat <0398> their meat <01320> or <03808> even touch <05060> their remains <05038>.
These <02088> you may eat <0398> from among water <04325> creatures: anything <03605> with fins <05579> and scales <07193> you may eat <0398>,
but whatever <0834> <03605> does not <0369> have fins <05579> and scales <07193> you may not <03808> eat <0398>; it is <01931> ritually impure <02931> to you.
All <03605> ritually clean <02889> birds <06833> you may eat <0398>.
These <02088> are the ones you may not <03808> eat <0398>: the <01992> eagle <05404>, the vulture <06538>, the black vulture <05822>,
the kite <07201>, the black kite <0344>, the dayyah <01772> after its species <04327>,
every <03605> raven <06158> after its species <04327>,
the ostrich <03284> <01323>, the owl <08464>, the seagull <07828>, the falcon <05322> after its species <04327>,
the little owl <03563>, the long-eared owl <03244>, the white owl <08580>,
the jackdaw <06893>, the carrion vulture <07360>, the cormorant <07994>,
the stork <02624>, the heron <0601> after its species <04327>, the hoopoe <01744>, the bat <05847>,
and any <03605> winged <05775> thing on the ground <08318> are impure <02931> to you– they may not <03808> be eaten <0398>.
You may eat <0398> any <03605> clean <02889> bird <05775>.
You may not <03808> eat <0398> any <03605> corpse <05038>, though <0834> you may give <05414> it to the resident foreigner <01616> who is living in your villages <08179> and he may eat <0398> it, or <0176> you may sell <04376> it to a foreigner <05237>. You <0859> are a people <05971> holy <06918> to the Lord <03068> your God <0430>. Do not <03808> boil <01310> a young goat <01423> in its mother’s <0517> milk <02461>.
You must be certain <06237> to tithe <06237> all <03605> the produce <08393> of your seed <02233> that comes from <03318> the field <07704> year <08141> after year <08141>.
In the presence <06440> of the Lord <03069> your God <0430> you must eat <0398> from the tithe <04643> of your grain <01715>, your new wine <08492>, your olive oil <03323>, and the firstborn <01062> of your herds <01241> and flocks <06629> in the place <04725> he chooses <0977> to locate <07931> his name <08034>, so that <04616> you may learn <03925> to revere <03372> the Lord <03069> your God <0430> always <03117> <03605>.
When <03588> he blesses <07235> you, if <03588> the place <04725> where <0834> he chooses <0977> to locate <07760> his name <08034> is distant <07368>,
you may convert <05414> the tithe into money <03701>, secure <06887> the money <03701>, and travel <01980> to <0413> the place <04725> the Lord <03068> your God <0430> chooses <0977> for himself.
Then you may spend <05414> the money <03701> however <0834> <03605> you wish <0183> for cattle <01241>, sheep <06629>, wine <03196>, beer <07941>, or whatever <0834> <03605> you desire <07592>. You <0859> and your household <01004> may eat <0398> there <08033> in the presence <06440> of the Lord <03068> your God <0430> and enjoy <08055> it.
As for the Levites <03881> in your villages <08179>, you must not <03808> ignore <05800> them, for <03588> they have no <0369> allotment <02506> or inheritance <05159> along with <05973> you.
At the end <07097> of every three <07969> years <08141> you must bring <03318> all <03605> the tithe <04643> of your produce <08393>, in that very year <08141>, and you must store <03240> it <01931> up <03240> in your villages <08179>.
Then <0935> the Levites <03881> (because <03588> they have no <0369> allotment <02506> or inheritance <05159> with <05973> you), the resident foreigners <01616>, the orphans <03490>, and the widows <0490> of your villages <08179> may come and eat <0398> their fill <07646> so that <04616> the Lord <03068> your God <0430> may bless <01288> you in all <03605> the work <04639> you do <06213>.
