2you must take <03947> the first <07225> of all <03605> the ground’s <0127> produce <06529> you harvest <0935> from the land <0776> the Lord <03068> your God <0430> is giving <05414> you, place <07760> it in a basket <02935>, and go <01980> to <0413> the place <04725> where <08033> <0834> he <0430> <03068> chooses <0977> to locate <07931> his name <08034>.
3You must go <0935> to <0413> the priest <03548> in office at that time <03117> and say <0559> to <0413> him <01992>, “I declare <05046> today <03117> to the Lord <03068> your God <0430> that <03588> I have come <0935> into <0413> the land <0776> that <0834> the Lord <03068> promised <07650> to our ancestors <01> to give <05414> us.”
4The priest <03548> will then take <03947> the basket <02935> from you <03027> and set <03240> it before <06440> the altar <04196> of the Lord <03068> your God <0430>.
5Then <06030> you must affirm <0559> before <06440> the Lord <03068> your God <0430>, “A wandering <06> Aramean <0761> was my ancestor <01>, and he went down <03381> to Egypt <04714> and lived <01481> there <08033> as a foreigner with a household few <04592> in number <04592>, but there <08033> he became <01961> a great <01419>, powerful <06099>, and numerous <07227> people <01471>.
6But the Egyptians <04713> mistreated <07489> and oppressed <06031> us, forcing <05414> us to <05921> do burdensome <07186> labor <05656>.
7So we cried out <06817> to <0413> the Lord <03068>, the God <0430> of our ancestors <01>, and he <03068> heard <08085> us and saw <07200> our humiliation <06040>, toil <05999>, and oppression <03906>.
8Therefore the Lord <03068> brought <03318> us out <03318> of Egypt <04714> with tremendous strength <02389> and power <05186> <02220>, as well as with great <01419> awe-inspiring <04172> signs <0226> and wonders <04159>.
9Then he brought <0935> us to <0413> this <02088> place <04725> and gave <05414> us this <02063> land <0776>, a land <0776> flowing <02100> with milk <02461> and honey <01706>.
10So now <06258>, look <02009>! I have brought <0935> the first <07225> of the ground’s <0127> produce <06529> that <0834> you, Lord <03068>, have given <05414> me.” Then you must set <03240> it down <03240> before <06440> the Lord <03068> your God <0430> and worship <07812> before <06440> him <0430> <03068>.
11You will celebrate <08056> all <03605> the good <02896> things that <0834> the Lord <03068> your God <0430> has given <05414> you and your <0859> family <01004>, along with the Levites <03881> and the resident foreigners <01616> among <07130> you.
12When <03588> you finish <03615> tithing <06237> all <03605> your income <08393> in the third <07992> year <08141> (the year <08141> of tithing <04643>), you must give <05414> it to the Levites <03881>, the resident foreigners <01616>, the orphans <03490>, and the widows <0490> so that they may eat <0398> to their satisfaction <07646> in your villages <08179>.
13Then you shall say <0559> before <06440> the Lord <03068> your God <0430>, “I have removed <01197> the sacred offering <06944> from <04480> my house <01004> and <01571> given <05414> it to the Levites <03881>, the resident foreigners <01616>, the orphans <03490>, and the widows <0490> just as <0834> you have commanded <06680> me. I have not <03808> violated <05674> or <03808> forgotten <07911> your commandments <04687>.
14I have not <03808> eaten <0398> anything when I was in mourning <0205>, or <03808> removed <01197> any <04480> of it while ceremonially unclean <02931>, or <03808> offered <05414> any <04480> of it to the dead <04191>; I have obeyed <06963> <08085> you <0430> <03068> and have done <06213> everything <03605> you have commanded <06680> me.
15Look down <08259> from <04480> your holy <06944> dwelling place <04583> in heaven <08064> and bless <01288> your people <05971> Israel <03478> and the land <0127> you have given <05414> us, just as <0834> you promised <07650> our ancestors <01>– a land <0776> flowing <02100> with milk <02461> and honey <01706>.”
16Today <02088> <03117> the Lord <03068> your God <0430> is commanding <06680> you to keep <06213> these <0428> statutes <02706> and ordinances <04941>, something you must do <06213> with all <03605> your heart <03824> and soul <05315>.
17Today <03117> you have declared <0559> the Lord <03068> to be <01961> your God <0430>, and that you will walk <01980> in his ways <01870>, keep <08104> his statutes <02706>, commandments <04687>, and ordinances <04941>, and obey <08085> him.
18And today <03117> the Lord <03068> has declared <0559> you to be <01961> his special <05459> people <05971> (as <0834> he already promised <01696> you) so you may keep <08104> all <03605> his commandments <04687>.
19Then he will elevate <05945> you above <05921> all <03605> the nations <01471> he has <0834> made <06213> and you will receive praise <08416>, fame <08034>, and honor <08597>. You will be <01961> a people <05971> holy <06918> to the Lord <03068> your God <0430>, as he has said <01696>.
