Dual Panel1Then <2532> a great <3173> sign <4592> appeared <3700> in <1722> heaven <3772>: a woman <1135> clothed with <4016> the sun <2246>, and <2532> with the moon <4582> under <5270> her <846> feet <4228>, and <2532> on <1909> her <846> head <2776> was a crown <4735> of twelve <1427> stars <792>.
2She was <2192> pregnant <1064> and <2532> was screaming <2896> in labor pains <5605>, struggling <928> to give birth <5088>.
3Then <2532> another <243> sign <4592> appeared <3700> in <1722> heaven <3772>: a <4450> huge <3173> red <4450> dragon <1404> that had <2192> seven <2033> heads <2776> and <2532> ten <1176> horns <2768>, and <2532> on <1909> its <846> heads <2776> were seven <2033> diadem crowns <1238>.
4Now <2532> the dragon’s <846> tail <3769> swept away <4951> a third <5154> of the stars <792> in heaven <3772> and <2532> hurled <906> them <846> to <1519> the <3588> earth <1093>. Then <2532> the dragon <1404> stood <2476> before <1799> the woman <1135> who was about <3195> to give birth <5088>, so that <2443> he might devour <2719> her <846> child <5043> as soon as <3752> it was born <5088>.
5So <2532> the woman gave birth <5088> to a son <5207>, a male child <730>, who <3739> is going <3195> to rule over <4165> all <3956> the nations <1484> with <1722> an iron <4603> rod <4464>. Her <846> child <5043> was suddenly caught up <726> to <4314> God <2316> and <2532> to <4314> his <846> throne <2362>,
6and <2532> she <1135> fled <5343> into <1519> the wilderness <2048> where <3699> a place <5117> had been prepared <2090> for her by God <2316>, so <2443> she could be taken care of for 1,260 <1250> days.
7Then <2532> war <4171> broke out <1096> in <1722> heaven <3772>: Michael <3413> and <2532> his <846> angels <32> fought <4170> against <3326> the dragon <1404>, and <2532> the dragon <1404> and <2532> his <846> angels <32> fought back <4170>.
8But <2532> the dragon was <2480> not <3756> strong <2480> enough to prevail, so there was no longer <3761> any place <5117> left <2147> in <1722> heaven <3772> for him and his angels.
9So that huge <3173> dragon <1404>– the ancient <744> serpent <3789>, the one called <2564> the devil <1228> and <2532> Satan <4567>, who deceives <4105> the whole <3650> world <3625>– was thrown down <906> to <1519> the earth <1093>, and <2532> his <846> angels <32> along with <3326> him <846>.
10Then <2532> I heard <191> a loud <3173> voice <5456> in <1722> heaven <3772> saying <3004>, “The salvation <4991> and <2532> the power <1411> and <2532> the <3588> kingdom <932> of our <2257> God <2316>, and <2532> the ruling authority <1849> of his <846> Christ <5547>, have <1096> now <737> come <1096>, because <3754> the accuser <2725> of our <2257> brothers and sisters <80>, the one who accuses <2723> them <846> day <2250> and <2532> night <3571> before <1799> our <2257> God <2316>, has been thrown down <906>.
11But <2532> they <846> overcame <3528> him <846> by <1223> the blood <129> of the Lamb <721> and <2532> by <1223> the word <3056> of their <846> testimony <3141>, and <2532> they did <25> not <3756> love <25> their <846> lives <5590> so much that they were afraid to <891> die <2288>.
12Therefore <5124> you <2165> heavens <3772> rejoice <2165>, and <2532> all who reside <4637> in <1722> them <846>! But woe <3759> to the earth <1093> and <2532> the sea <2281> because <3754> the devil <1228> has come down <2597> to <4314> you <5209>! He is filled <2192> with terrible <3173> anger <2372>, for he knows <1492> that <3754> he <2192> only has <2192> a little <3641> time <2540>!”
13Now <2532> when <3753> the dragon <1404> realized <1492> that <3754> he had been thrown down <906> to <1519> the earth <1093>, he pursued <1377> the woman <1135> who <3748> had given birth <5088> to the male child <730>.
14But <2532> the woman <1135> was given <1325> the two <1417> wings <4420> of a giant <3173> eagle <105> so that <2443> she could fly out <4072> into <1519> the wilderness <2048>, to <1519> the place <5117> God prepared for her <846>, where <3699> she is taken care <5142> of– away from <575> the presence <4383> of the serpent <3789>– for a time <2540>, times <2540>, and <2532> half <2255> a time <2540>.
15Then <2532> the serpent <3789> spouted <906> water <5204> like <5613> a river <4215> out <1537> of his <846> mouth <4750> after <3694> the woman <1135> in an attempt <4160> to <2443> sweep <4216> her <846> away by a flood <4216>,
16but <2532> the earth <1093> came to <997> her <1135> rescue <997>; the ground <1093> opened up <455> and swallowed <2666> the river <4215> that <3739> the dragon <1404> had spewed <906> from <1537> his <846> mouth <4750>.
17So <2532> the dragon <1404> became enraged <3710> at <1909> the woman <1135> and <2532> went away <565> to make <4160> war <4171> on <3326> the rest <3062> of her <846> children <4690>, those who keep <5083> God’s <2316> commandments <1785> and <2532> hold <2192> to the testimony <3141> about Jesus <2424>. And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore.
