2“Son <01121> of man <0120>, prophesy <05012> and say <0559>, ‘This is what <03541> the sovereign <0136> Lord <03069> says <0559>: “‘Wail <03213>, “Alas <01929>, the day <03117> is here!”
3For <03588> the day <03117> is near <07138>, the day <03117> of the Lord <03068> is near <07138>; it will be a day <03117> of storm clouds <06051>, it will be <01961> a time <06256> of judgment for the nations <01471>.
4A sword <02719> will come <0935> against Egypt <04714> and panic <02479> will overtake <01961> Ethiopia <03568> when the slain <02491> fall <05307> in Egypt <04714> and they carry away <03947> her wealth <01995> and dismantle <02040> her foundations <03247>.
5Ethiopia <03568>, Put <06316>, Lud <03865>, all <03605> the foreigners <06154>, Libya <03552>, and the people <01121> of the covenant <01285> land <0776> will die <05307> by the sword <02719> along with <0854> them.
6“‘This is what <03541> the Lord <03069> says <0559>: Egypt’s <04714> supporters <05564> will fall <05307>; her confident <05797> pride <01347> will crumble <03381>. From Migdol <04024> to Syene <05482> they will die <05307> by the sword <02719> within her, declares <05002> the sovereign <0136> Lord <03068>.
7They will be desolate <08074> among <08432> desolate <08074> lands <0776>, and their cities <05892> will be <01961> among <08432> ruined <02717> cities <05892>.
8They will know <03045> that <03588> I <0589> am the Lord <03068> when I ignite <05414> a fire <0784> in Egypt <04714> and all <03605> her allies <05826> are defeated <07665>.
9On that <01931> day <03117> messengers <04397> will go out <03318> from <06440> me in ships <06716> to frighten <02729> overly confident <0983> Ethiopia <03568>; panic <02479> will overtake <01961> them on the day <03117> of Egypt’s <04714> doom; for <03588> beware <02009>– it is coming <0935>!
10“‘This is what <03541> the sovereign <0136> Lord <03069> says <0559>: I will put an end <07673> to the hordes <01995> of Egypt <04714>, by the hand <03027> of King <04428> Nebuchadrezzar <05019> of Babylon <0894>.
11He <01931> and his people <05971> with <0854> him, the most terrifying <06184> of the nations <01471>, will be brought <0935> there to destroy <07843> the land <0776>. They will draw <07324> their swords <02719> against <05921> Egypt <04714>, and fill <04390> the land <0776> with corpses <02491>.
12I will <05414> dry up <02724> the waterways <02975> and hand <03027> <04376> the land <0776> over to <03027> <04376> evil men <07451>. I will make <08074> the land <0776> and everything <04393> in it desolate <08074> by the hand <03027> of foreigners <02114>. I <0589>, the Lord <03068>, have spoken <01696>!
13“‘This is what <03541> the sovereign <0136> Lord <03069> says <0559>: I will destroy <06> the idols <01544>, and put an end <07673> to the gods <0457> of Memphis <05297>. There will no <03808> longer <05750> be a prince <05387> from the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>; so I will make <05414> the land <0776> of Egypt <04714> fearful <03374>.
14I will desolate <08074> Pathros <06624>, I will ignite <05414> a fire <0784> in Zoan <06814>, and I will execute <06213> judgments <08201> on Thebes <04996>.
15I will pour out <08210> my anger <02534> upon <05921> Pelusium <05512>, the stronghold <04581> of Egypt <04714>; I will cut off <03772> the hordes <01995> of Thebes <04996>.
16I will ignite <05414> a fire <0784> in Egypt <04714>; Syene <05512> will writhe <02342> in agony <02342>, Thebes <04996> will be <01961> broken down <01234>, and Memphis <05297> will face enemies <06862> every day <03119>.
17The young men <0970> of On <0206> and of Pi-beseth <06364> will die <05307> by the sword <02719>; and the cities will go <01980> into captivity <07628>.
18In Tahpanhes <08471> the day <03117> will be dark <02821> when I break <07665> the yoke <04133> of Egypt <04714> there <08033>. Her confident <05797> pride <01347> will cease <07673> within her; a cloud <06051> will cover <03680> her, and her daughters <01323> will go <01980> into captivity <07628>.
19I will execute <06213> judgments <08201> on Egypt <04714>. Then they will know <03045> that <03588> I <0589> am the Lord <03068>.’”
20In the eleventh <06240> <0259> year <08141>, in the first <07223> month, on the seventh <07651> day of the month <02320>, the word <01697> of the Lord <03068> came <01961> to <0413> me:
21“Son <01121> of man <0120>, I have broken <07665> the arm <02220> of Pharaoh <06547> king <04428> of Egypt <04714>. Look <02009>, it has not <03808> been bandaged <02280> for healing <07499> <05414> or set <07760> with a dressing <02848> so that it might become strong <02388> enough to grasp <08610> a sword <02719>.
22Therefore <03651> this is what <03541> the sovereign <0136> Lord <03069> says <0559>: Look <02005>, I am against <0413> Pharaoh <06547> king <04428> of Egypt <04714>, and I will break <07665> his arms <02220>, the strong <02389> arm and the broken <07665> one, and I will make the sword <02719> drop <05307> from his hand <03027>.
23I will scatter <06327> the Egyptians <04714> among the nations <01471>, and disperse <02219> them among foreign countries <0776>.
24I will strengthen <02388> the arms <02220> of the king <04428> of Babylon <0894>, and I will place <05414> my sword <02719> in his hand <03027>, but I will break <07665> the arms <02220> of Pharaoh <06547>, and he will groan <05008> like the fatally <05009> wounded <02491> before <06440> the king of Babylon.
25I will strengthen <02388> the arms <02220> of the king <04428> of Babylon <0894>, but the arms <02220> of Pharaoh <06547> will fall <05307> limp. Then they will know <03045> that <03588> I <0589> am the Lord <03068> when I place <05414> my sword <02719> in the hand <03027> of the king <04428> of Babylon <0894> and he extends <05186> it against <0413> the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>.
26I will scatter <06327> the Egyptians <04714> among the nations <01471> and disperse <02219> them among foreign countries <0776>. Then they will know <03045> that <03588> I <0589> am the Lord <03068>.”
