5He predestined<4309> us to adoption<5206> as sons<5206> through<1223> Jesus<2424> Christ<5547> to Himself<846>, according<2596> to the kind<2107> intention<2107> of His will,
6to the praise<1868> of the glory<1391> of His grace<5485>, which<3739> He freely<5487> bestowed<5487> on us in the Beloved<25>.

18I pray that the eyes<3788> of your heart<2588> may be enlightened<5461>, so<1519> that you will know<3609> what<5101> is the hope<1680> of His calling<2821>, what<5101> are the riches<4149> of the glory<1391> of His inheritance<2817> in the saints<40>,
19and what<5101> is the surpassing<5235> greatness<3174> of His power<1411> toward<1519> us who believe<4100>. These are in accordance<2596> with the working<1753> of the strength<2904> of His might<2479>
20which<3739> He brought<1754> about<1754> in Christ<5547>, when He raised<1453> Him from the dead<3498> and seated<2523> Him at His right<1188> hand<1188> in the heavenly<2032> places,
21far<5231> above<5231> all<3956> rule<746> and authority<1849> and power<1411> and dominion<2963>, and every<3956> name<3686> that is named<3687>, not only<3440> in this<3778> age<165> but also<2532> in the one to come<3195>.
22And He put<5293> all<3956> things<3956> in subjection<5293> under<5259> His feet<4228>, and gave<1325> Him as head<2776> over<5228> all<3956> things<3956> to the church<1577>,
23which<3748> is His body<4983>, the fullness<4138> of Him who fills<4137> all<3956> in all<3956>.
