Dual Panel1Then<2532> there was given<1325> me a measuring<2563> rod<2563> like<3664> a staff<4464>; and someone said<3004>, "Get<1453> up and measure<3354> the temple<3485> of God<2316> and the altar<2379>, and those<3588> who worship<4352> in it.
2"Leave<1544> out the court<833> which is outside<1855> the temple<3485> and do not measure<3354> it, for it has been given<1325> to the nations<1484>; and they will tread<3961> under<3961> foot<3961> the holy<40> city<4172> for forty-two<5065><1417> months<3376>.
3"And I will grant<1325> authority to my two<1417> witnesses<3144>, and they will prophesy<4395> for twelve<5507><1250> hundred<5507><1250> and sixty<1835> days<2250>, clothed<4016> in sackcloth<4526>."
4These<3778> are the two<1417> olive<1636> trees<1636> and the two<1417> lampstands<3087> that stand<2476> before<1799> the Lord<2962> of the earth<1093>.
5And if<1487> anyone<5100> wants<2309> to harm<91> them, fire<4442> flows<1607> out of their mouth<4750> and devours<2719> their enemies<2190>; so<2532> if<1487> anyone<5100> wants<2309> to harm<91> them, he must<1163> be killed<615> in this<3779> way<3779>.
6These<3778> have<2192> the power<1849> to shut<2808> up the sky<3772>, so<2443> that rain<5205> will not fall<1026> during the days<2250> of their prophesying<4394>; and they have<2192> power<1849> over<1909> the waters<5204> to turn<4762> them into blood<129>, and to strike<3960> the earth<1093> with every<3956> plague<4127>, as often<3740> as they desire<2309>.
7When<3752> they have finished<5055> their testimony<3141>, the beast<2342> that comes<305> up out of the abyss<12> will make<4160> war<4171> with them, and overcome<3528> them and kill<615> them.
8And their dead<4430> bodies<4430> will lie in the street<4116> of the great<3173> city<4172> which<3748> mystically<4153> is called<2564> Sodom<4670> and Egypt<125>, where<3699> also<2532> their Lord<2962> was crucified<4717>.
9Those from the peoples<2992> and tribes<5443> and tongues<1100> and nations<1484> will look<991> at their dead<4430> bodies<4430> for three<5140> and a half<2255> days<2250>, and will not permit<863> their dead<4430> bodies<4430> to be laid<5087> in a tomb<3418>.
10And those<3588> who dwell<2730> on the earth<1093> will rejoice<5463> over<1909> them and celebrate<2165>; and they will send<3992> gifts<1435> to one<240> another<240>, because<3754> these<3778> two<1417> prophets<4396> tormented<928> those<3588> who dwell<2730> on the earth<1093>.
11But after<3326> the three<5140> and a half<2255> days<2250>, the breath<4151> of life<2222> from God<2316> came<1525> into them, and they stood<2476> on their feet<4228>; and great<3173> fear<5401> fell<1968> upon those<3588> who were watching<2334> them.
12And they heard<191> a loud<3173> voice<5456> from heaven<3772> saying<3004> to them, "Come<305> up here<5602>." Then<2532> they went<305> up into heaven<3772> in the cloud<3507>, and their enemies<2190> watched<2334> them.
13And in that hour<5610> there was a great<3173> earthquake<4578>, and a tenth<1182> of the city<4172> fell<4098>; seven<2033> thousand<5505> people<3686><444> were killed<615> in the earthquake<4578>, and the rest<3062> were terrified<1719> and gave<1325> glory<1391> to the God<2316> of heaven<3772>.
14The second<1208> woe<3759> is past<565>; behold<2400>, the third<5154> woe<3759> is coming<2064> quickly<5035>.
15Then<2532> the seventh<1442> angel<32> sounded<4537>; and there were loud<3173> voices<5456> in heaven<3772>, saying<3004>, "The kingdom<932> of the world<2889> has become<1096> the kingdom of our Lord<2962> and of His Christ<5547>; and He will reign<936> forever<165> and ever<165>."
16And the twenty-four<1501><5064> elders<4245>, who sit<2521> on their thrones<2362> before<1799> God<2316>, fell<4098> on their faces<4383> and worshiped<4352> God<2316>,
17saying<3004>, "We give<2168> You thanks<2168>, O Lord<2962> God<2316>, the Almighty<3841>, who are and who<3588> were, because<3754> You have taken<2983> Your great<3173> power<1411> and have begun to reign<936>.
18"And the nations<1484> were enraged<3710>, and Your wrath<3709> came<2064>, and the time<2540> came for the dead<3498> to be judged<2919>, and the time to reward<3408> Your bond-servants<1401> the prophets<4396> and the saints<40> and those<3588> who fear<5399> Your name<3686>, the small<3398> and the great<3173>, and to destroy<1311> those<3588> who destroy<1311> the earth<1093>."
19And the temple<3485> of God<2316> which is in heaven<3772> was opened<455>; and the ark<2787> of His covenant<1242> appeared<3708> in His temple<3485>, and there were flashes<796> of lightning<796> and sounds<5456> and peals<1027> of thunder<1027> and an earthquake<4578> and a great<3173> hailstorm<5464>.
