On the third<5154> day<2250> there was a wedding<1062> in Cana<2580> of Galilee<1056>, and the mother<3384> of Jesus<2424> was there<1563>;
and both<2532> Jesus<2424> and His disciples<3101> were invited<2564> to the wedding<1062>.
When the wine<3631> ran<5302> out, the mother<3384> of Jesus<2424> *said<3004> to Him, "They have<2192> no<3756> wine<3631>."
And Jesus<2424> *said<3004> to her,
His mother<3384> *said<3004> to the servants<1249>, "Whatever<3739><5100><302> He says<3004> to you, do<4160> it."
Now<1161> there were six<1803> stone<3035> waterpots<5201> set<2749> there<1563> for the Jewish<2453> custom of purification<2512>, containing<5562> twenty<1417> or<2228> thirty<5140> gallons<3355> each<303>.
Jesus<2424> *said<3004> to them,
And He *said<3004> to them,
When<5613> the headwaiter<755> tasted<1089> the water<5204> which had become<1096> wine<3631>, and did not know<3609> where<4159> it came<1510> from (but the servants<1249> who had drawn<501> the water<5204> knew<3609>), the headwaiter<755> *called<5455> the bridegroom<3566>,
and *said<3004> to him, "Every<3956> man<444> serves<5087> the good<2570> wine<3631> first<4413>, and when<3752> the people have drunk<3184> freely<3184>, then he serves the poorer<1640> wine; but you have kept<5083> the good<2570> wine<3631> until<2193> now<737>."
This<3778> beginning<746> of His signs<4592> Jesus<2424> did<4160> in Cana<2580> of Galilee<1056>, and manifested<5319> His glory<1391>, and His disciples<3101> believed<4100> in Him.
After<3326> this<3778> He went<2597> down<2597> to Capernaum<2746>, He and His mother<3384> and His brothers<80> and His disciples<3101>; and they stayed<3306> there<1563> a few<3756><4183> days<2250>.
The Passover<3957> of the Jews<2453> was near<1451>, and Jesus<2424> went<305> up to Jerusalem<2414>.
And He found<2147> in the temple<2413> those<3588> who were selling<4453> oxen<1016> and sheep<4263> and doves<4058>, and the money<2773> changers<2773> seated<2521> at their tables.
And He made<4160> a scourge<5416> of cords<4979>, and drove<1544> them all<3956> out of the temple<2413>, with the sheep<4263> and the oxen<1016>; and He poured<1632> out the coins<2772> of the money<2855> changers<2855> and overturned<396> their tables<5132>;
and to those<3588> who were selling<4453> the doves<4058> He said<3004>,
His disciples<3101> remembered<3403> that it was written<1125>, "ZEAL<2205> FOR YOUR HOUSE<3624> WILL CONSUME<2719> ME."
The Jews<2453> then<3767> said<3004> to Him, "What<5101> sign<4592> do You show<1166> us as your authority for doing<4160> these<3778> things<3778>?"
Jesus<2424> answered<611> them,
The Jews<2453> then<3767> said<3004>, "It took forty-six<5065><2532><1803> years<2094> to build<3618> this<3778> temple<3485>, and will You raise<1453> it up in three<5140> days<2250>?"
But He was speaking<3004> of the temple<3485> of His body<4983>.
So<3767> when<3753> He was raised<1453> from the dead<3498>, His disciples<3101> remembered<3403> that He said<3004> this<3778>; and they believed<4100> the Scripture<1124> and the word<3056> which<3739> Jesus<2424> had spoken<3004>.
Now<1161> when<5613> He was in Jerusalem<2414> at the Passover<3957>, during<1722> the feast<1859>, many<4183> believed<4100> in His name<3686>, observing<2334> His signs<4592> which<3739> He was doing<4160>.
But Jesus<2424>, on His part<846>, was not entrusting<4100> Himself<846> to them, for He knew<1097> all<3956> men<3956>,
and because<3754> He did not need<5532> anyone<5100> to testify<3140> concerning<4012> man<444>, for He Himself<846> knew<1097> what<5101> was in man<444>.
