2I fed <4222> you <5209> milk <1051>, not <3756> solid food <1033>, for <1063> you were <1410> not yet <3768> ready <1410>. In fact, you are <1410> still <2089> not <3761> ready <1410>,
3for <1063> you are <1510> still <2089> influenced by the flesh <4559>. For <1063> since <3699> there is still jealousy <2205> and <2532> dissension <2054> among <1722> you <5213>, are you <1510> not <3780> influenced by the flesh <4559> and <2532> behaving <4043> like unregenerate people <444>?
4For <1063> whenever <3752> someone <5100> says <3004>, “I <1473> am <1510> with Paul <3972>,” or <1161> “I <1473> am with Apollos <625>,” are you <1510> not <3756> merely human <444>?
5What <5101> is <1510> Apollos <625>, really? Or <1161> what <5101> is <1510> Paul <3972>? Servants <1249> through <1223> whom <3739> you came to believe <4100>, and <2532> each <1538> of us in the ministry the Lord <2962> gave <1325> us.
6I <1473> planted <5452>, Apollos <625> watered <4222>, but <235> God <2316> caused <837> it to grow <837>.
7So <5620> neither <3777> the one who plants <5452> counts <1510> for anything <5100>, nor <3777> the one who waters <4222>, but <235> God <2316> who causes the growth <837>.
8The one who plants <5452> and <2532> the one who waters <4222> work as one <1520>, but <1161> each <1538> will receive <2983> his <2398> reward <3408> according <2596> to his <2398> work <2873>.
9We are <1510> coworkers <4904> belonging <1510> to God <2316>. You are <1510> God’s <2316> field <1091>, God’s <2316> building <3619>.
10According to <2596> the grace <5485> of God <2316> given <1325> to me <3427>, like <5613> a skilled <4680> master-builder <753> I laid <5087> a foundation <2310>, but <1161> someone else <243> builds <2026> on it. And <1161> each one <1538> must be careful <991> how <4459> he builds <2026>.
11For <1063> no one <3762> can <1410> lay <5087> any foundation <2310> other <243> than <3844> what is being laid <2749>, which <3739> is <1510> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>.
12If <1487> anyone <5100> builds <2026> on <1909> the foundation <2310> with gold <5553>, silver <694>, precious <5093> stones <3037>, wood <3586>, hay <5528>, or straw <2562>,
13each <1538> builder’s work <2041> will be <1096> plainly seen <5318>, for <1063> the Day <2250> will make <1213> it clear <1213>, because <3754> it will be revealed <601> by <1722> fire <4442>. And <2532> the fire <4442> will test <1381> what kind <3697> of work <2041> each <1538> has done <1510>.
14If <1487> what someone <5100> has built <2026> survives <3306>, he will receive <2983> a reward <3408>.
15If <1487> someone’s <5100> work <2041> is burned up <2618>, he will suffer loss <2210>. He <4982> himself <846> will be saved <4982>, but <1161> only <3779> as <5613> through <1223> fire <4442>.
16Do you <1492> not <3756> know <1492> that <3754> you are <1510> God’s <2316> temple <3485> and <2532> that God’s <2316> Spirit <4151> lives <3611> in <1722> you <5213>?
17If <1487> someone <5100> destroys <5351> God’s <2316> temple <3485>, God <2316> will destroy <5351> him <5126>. For <1063> God’s <2316> temple <3485> is <1510> holy <40>, which <3748> is what you <5210> are <1510>.
18Guard against self-deception <1438> <1818>, each of you. If <1487> someone <5100> among <1722> you <5213> thinks <1380> he is <1510> wise <4680> in <1722> this age <165>, let <1096> him <5129> become <1096> foolish <3474> so that <2443> he can become <1096> wise <4680>.
19For <1063> the wisdom <4678> of this <5127> age <2889> is <1510> foolishness <3472> with <3844> God <2316>. As it is written <1125>, “He catches <1405> the wise <4680> in <1722> their <846> craftiness <3834>.”
20And <2532> again <3825>, “The Lord <2962> knows <1097> that the thoughts <1261> of the wise <4680> are <1510> futile <3152>.”
21So then <5620>, no more <3367> boasting <2744> about <1722> mere mortals <444>! For <1063> everything <3956> belongs <1510> to you <5216>,
22whether <1535> Paul <3972> or <1535> Apollos <625> or <1535> Cephas <2786> or <1535> the world <2889> or <1535> life <2222> or <1535> death <2288> or <1535> the present <1764> or <1535> the future <3195>. Everything <3956> belongs to you,
23and <1161> you <5210> belong to Christ <5547>, and <1161> Christ <5547> belongs to God <2316>.
