2God <0430> spoke <01696> to <0413> Moses <04872> and said <0559> to <0413> him, “I <0589> am the Lord <03068>.
3I appeared <07200> to <0413> Abraham <085>, to <0413> Isaac <03327>, and to <0413> Jacob <03290> as God <0410> Almighty <07706>, but by my name <08034> ‘the Lord <03068>’ I was not <03808> known <03045> to them.
4I also <01571> established <06965> my covenant <01285> with <0854> them to give <05414> them the land <0776> of Canaan <03667>, where <0834> they were living <04033> as resident foreigners <01481>.
5I <0589> have also <01571> heard <08085> the groaning <05009> of the Israelites <03478> <01121>, whom <0834> the Egyptians <04714> are enslaving <05647>, and I have remembered <02142> my covenant <01285>.
6Therefore <03651>, tell <0559> the Israelites <03478> <01121>, ‘I <0589> am the Lord <03068>. I will bring <03318> you out <03318> from your enslavement <05450> to <08478> the Egyptians <04714>, I will rescue <05337> you from the hard labor <05656> they impose, and I will redeem <01350> you with an outstretched <05186> arm <02220> and with great <01419> judgments <08201>.
7I will take <03947> you to myself for a people <05971>, and I will be <01961> your God <0430>. Then you will know <03045> that <03588> I <0589> am the Lord <03068> your God <0430>, who brought you out <03318> from your enslavement <05450> to <08478> the Egyptians <04714>.
8I will bring <0935> you to <0413> the land <0776> I swore <03027> <05375> to give <05414> to Abraham <085>, to Isaac <03327>, and to Jacob <03290>– and I will give <05414> it to you as a possession <04181>. I <0589> am the Lord <03068>!’”
9Moses <04872> told <01696> this <03651> to <0413> the Israelites <03478> <01121>, but they did not <03808> listen <08085> to <0413> him <04872> because of their discouragement <07307> <07115> and hard <07186> labor <05656>.
10Then the Lord <03068> said <01696> to <0413> Moses <04872>,
11“Go <0935>, tell <01696> Pharaoh <06547> king <04428> of Egypt <04714> that he must release <07971> the Israelites <03478> <01121> from his land <0776>.”
12But Moses <04872> replied <01696> to <06440> the Lord <03068>, “If <02005> the Israelites <03478> <01121> did not <03808> listen <08085> to <0413> me, then how <0349> will Pharaoh <06547> listen <08085> to me <0589>, since I speak with difficulty <08193> <06189>?”
13The Lord <03068> spoke <01696> to <0413> Moses <04872> and Aaron <0175> and gave <06680> them a charge <06680> for <0413> the Israelites <03478> <01121> and Pharaoh <06547> king <04428> of Egypt <04714> to bring <03318> the Israelites <03478> <01121> out <03318> of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>.
14These <0428> are the heads <07218> of their fathers <01>’ households <01004>: The sons <01121> of Reuben <07205>, the firstborn son <01060> of Israel <03478>, were Hanoch <02585> and Pallu <06396>, Hezron <02696> and Carmi <03756>. These <0428> were the clans <04940> of Reuben <07205>.
15The sons <01121> of Simeon <08095> were Jemuel <03223>, Jamin <03226>, Ohad <0161>, Jakin <03199>, Zohar <06714>, and Shaul <07586>, the son <01121> of a Canaanite <03669> woman. These <0428> were the clans <04940> of Simeon <08095>.
16Now these <0428> are the names <08034> of the sons <01121> of Levi <03878>, according to their records <08435>: Gershon <01648>, Kohath <06955>, and Merari <04847>. (The length of Levi’s <03878> life <02416> was 137 <03967> <07970> <07651> years <08141> <08141>.)
17The sons <01121> of Gershon <01648>, by their families <04940>, were Libni <03845> and Shimei <08096>.
18The sons <01121> of Kohath <06955> were Amram <06019>, Izhar <03324>, Hebron <02275>, and Uzziel <05816>. (The length <08141> of Kohath’s <06955> life <02416> was 133 <03967> <07970> <07969> years <08141>.)
19The sons <01121> of Merari <04847> were Mahli <04249> and Mushi <04187>. These <0428> were the clans <04940> of Levi <03878>, according to their records <08435>.
20Amram <06019> married <03947> his father’s sister <01733> Jochebed <03115>, and she <0802> bore <03205> him Aaron <0175> and Moses <04872>. (The length <08141> of Amram’s <06019> life <02416> was 137 <03967> <07970> <07651> years <08141>.)
21The sons <01121> of Izhar <03324> were Korah <07141>, Nepheg <05298>, and Zikri <02147>.
22The sons <01121> of Uzziel <05816> were Mishael <04332>, Elzaphan <0469>, and Sithri <05644>.
23Aaron <0175> married <03947> Elisheba <0472>, the daughter <01323> of Amminadab <05992> and sister <0269> of Nahshon <05177>, and she bore <03205> him Nadab <05070> and Abihu <030>, Eleazar <0499> and Ithamar <0385>.
24The sons <01121> of Korah <07141> were Assir <0617>, Elkanah <0511>, and Abiasaph <023>. These <0428> were the Korahite <07145> clans <04940>.
25Now Eleazar <0499> son <01121> of Aaron <0175> married <0802> <03947> one of the daughters <01323> of Putiel <06317> and she bore <03205> him Phinehas <06372>. These <0428> are the heads <07218> of the fathers <01>’ households of Levi <03881> according to their clans <04940>.
26It <01931> was the same Aaron <0175> and Moses <04872> to whom <0834> the Lord <03068> said <0559>, “Bring <03318> the Israelites <03478> <01121> out <03318> of the land <0776> of Egypt <04714> by <05921> their regiments <06635>.”
27They <01992> were the men who were speaking <01696> to <0413> Pharaoh <06547> king <04428> of Egypt <04714>, in order to bring <03318> the Israelites <03478> <01121> out <03318> of Egypt <04714>. It was the same <01931> Moses <04872> and Aaron <0175>.
28When <03117> <01961> the Lord <03068> spoke <01696> to <0413> Moses <04872> in the land <0776> of Egypt <04714>,
29he said <01696> to <0413> him <04872>, “I <0589> am the Lord <03068>. Tell <01696> Pharaoh <06547> king <04428> of Egypt <04714> all <03605> that <0834> I <0589> am telling <01696> you.”
30But Moses <04872> said <0559> before <06440> the Lord <03068>, “Since <02005> I <0589> speak <08193> with difficulty <06189>, why <0349> should Pharaoh <06547> listen <08085> to me <0413>?”
