2Let each <1538> of us <2257> please <700> his neighbor <4139> for <1519> his good <18> to <4314> build <3619> him up.
3For <1063> even Christ <5547> did <700> not <3756> please <700> himself <1438>, but <235> just as <2531> it is written <1125>, “The insults <3680> of those who insult <3679> you <4571> have fallen <1968> on <1909> me <1691>.”
4For <1063> everything <3745> that was written in former times <4270> was written <1125> for <1519> our <2251> instruction <1319>, so that <2443> through <1223> endurance <5281> and <2532> through <1223> encouragement <3874> of the scriptures <1124> we may have <2192> hope <1680>.
5Now <1161> may the God <2316> of endurance <5281> and <2532> comfort <3874> give <1325> you <5213> unity <5426> with <1722> one another <240> in accordance with <2596> Christ <5547> Jesus <2424>,
6so that <2443> together <3661> you may <1392> with <1722> one <1520> voice <4750> glorify <1392> the God <2316> and <2532> Father <3962> of our <2257> Lord <2962> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>.
7Receive <4355> one another <240>, then, just as <2531> Christ <5547> also <2532> received <4355> you <2248>, to <1519> God’s <2316> glory <1391>.
8For <1063> I tell <3004> you that Christ <5547> has become <1096> a servant <1249> of the circumcised <4061> on behalf <5228> of God’s <2316> truth <225> to <1519> confirm <950> the promises <1860> made to the fathers <3962>,
9and <1161> thus the Gentiles <1484> glorify <1392> God <2316> for <5228> his mercy <1656>. As <2531> it is written <1125>, “Because <1223> of this <5124> I will confess <1843> you <4671> among <1722> the Gentiles <1484>, and <2532> I will sing praises <5567> to your <4675> name <3686>.”
10And <2532> again <3825> it says <3004>: “Rejoice <2165>, O Gentiles <1484>, with <3326> his <846> people <2992>.”
11And <2532> again <3825>, “Praise <134> the Lord <2962> all <3956> you Gentiles <1484>, and <2532> let all <3956> the peoples <2992> praise <1867> him <846>.”
12And <2532> again <3825> Isaiah <2268> says <3004>, “The root <4491> of Jesse <2421> will come <1510>, and <2532> the one who rises <450> to rule over <757> the Gentiles <1484>, in <1909> him <846> will <1679> the Gentiles <1484> hope <1679>.”
13Now <1161> may the God <2316> of hope <1680> fill <4137> you <5209> with all <3956> joy <5479> and <2532> peace <1515> as you believe <4100> in <1519> him, so that you <5209> may abound <4052> in <1722> hope <1680> by <1722> the power <1411> of the Holy <40> Spirit <4151>.
14But <1161> I <1473> myself am fully convinced <3982> about <4012> you <5216>, my <3450> brothers and sisters <80>, that <3754> you <1510> yourselves are <1510> full <3324> of goodness <19>, filled <4137> with all <3956> knowledge <1108>, and able <1410> to instruct <3560> one another <240>.
15But <1161> I have written <1125> more boldly <5112> to you <5213> on <575> some points <3313> so as to remind <1878> you <5209>, because <1223> of the grace <5485> given <1325> to me <3427> by <575> God <2316>
16to be <1510> a minister <3011> of Christ <5547> Jesus <2424> to <1519> the Gentiles <1484>. I serve <2418> the gospel <2098> of God <2316> like a priest <2418>, so that <2443> the Gentiles <1484> may become <1096> an acceptable <2144> offering <4376>, sanctified <37> by <1722> the Holy <40> Spirit <4151>.
17So <3767> I boast <2746> in <1722> Christ <5547> Jesus <2424> about the things that pertain to <4314> God <2316>.
18For <1063> I will <5111> not <3756> dare <5111> to speak <2980> of anything <5100> except what Christ <5547> has accomplished <2716> through <1223> me <1700> in order to bring about the obedience <5218> of the Gentiles <1484>, by word <3056> and <2532> deed <2041>,
19in <1722> the power <1411> of signs <4592> and <2532> wonders <5059>, in <1722> the power <1411> of the Spirit <4151> of God. So <5620> from <575> Jerusalem <2419> even <2532> as far as <2945> <3360> Illyricum <2437> I have fully preached <4137> the gospel <2098> of Christ <5547>.
20And <1161> in this way <3779> I desire <5389> to preach <2097> where <3699> Christ <5547> has <3687> not <3756> been named <3687>, so <2443> as not <3361> to build <3618> on <1909> another person’s <245> foundation <2310>,
21but <235> as <2531> it is written <1125>: “Those who <3739> were <312> not <3756> told <312> about <4012> him <846> will see <3700>, and <2532> those who have <191> not <3756> heard <191> will understand <4920>.”
22This is the reason <1352> I was <1465> often <4183> hindered <1465> from coming <2064> to <4314> you <5209>.
23But <1161> now <3570> there is nothing <3371> more to keep me in <1722> these <5125> regions <2824>, and <1161> I have <2192> for <575> many <2425> years <2094> desired <1974> to come <2064> to <4314> you <5209>
24when <5613> I go <4198> to <1519> Spain <4681>. For <1063> I hope <1679> to visit <2300> you <5209> when <1279> I pass through <1279> and <2532> that you <5216> will help <4311> me on <4311> my journey <4311> there <1563>, after I have enjoyed <1705> your <5216> company for a while.
25But <1161> now <3570> I go <4198> to <1519> Jerusalem <2419> to minister <1247> to the saints <40>.
26For <1063> Macedonia <3109> and <2532> Achaia <882> are pleased <2106> to make <4160> some <5100> contribution <2842> for <1519> the poor <4434> among the saints <40> in <1722> Jerusalem <2419>.
27For <1063> they were pleased <2106> to do this, and <2532> indeed they are <1510> indebted <3781> to the Jerusalem saints <846>. For <1063> if <1487> the Gentiles <1484> have shared <2841> in their <846> spiritual things <4152>, they are obligated <3784> also <2532> to minister <3008> to them <846> in <1722> material things <4559>.
28Therefore <3767> after <2005> I have completed <2005> this <5124> and <2532> have safely delivered <4972> this <5126> bounty <2590> to them <846>, I will set out <565> for <1519> Spain <4681> by way <1223> of you <5216>,
29and <1161> I know <1492> that <3754> when <2064> I come <2064> to <4314> you <5209> I will come <2064> in <1722> the fullness <4138> of Christ’s <5547> blessing <2129>.
30Now I urge <3870> you <5209>, brothers and sisters <80>, through <1223> our <2257> Lord <2962> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547> and <2532> through <1223> the love <26> of the Spirit <4151>, to join fervently <4865> with me <3427> in <1722> prayer <4335> to <4314> God <2316> on <5228> my behalf <1700>.
31Pray <2443> that I may be rescued <4506> from <575> those who are disobedient <544> in <1722> Judea <2449> and <2532> that my <3450> ministry <1248> in <1519> Jerusalem <2419> may be <1096> acceptable <2144> to the saints <40>,
32so that <2443> by <1223> God’s <2316> will <2307> I may come <2064> to <4314> you <5209> with <1722> joy <5479> and be refreshed <4875> in your company <5213>.
33Now <1161> may the God <2316> of peace <1515> be with <3326> all <3956> of you <5216>. Amen <281>.
