Dual Panel1Then <2532> a measuring rod <2563> like <3664> a staff <4464> was given <1325> to me <3427>, and I was told <3004>, “Get up <1453> and <2532> measure <3354> the temple <3485> of God <2316>, and <2532> the altar <2379>, and <2532> the ones who worship <4352> there <1722> <846>.
2But <2532> do <3354> not <3361> measure <3354> the outer <1855> courtyard <833> of the temple <3485>; leave <1544> it <846> out <1855>, because <3754> it has been given <1325> to the Gentiles <1484>, and <2532> they will trample <3961> on the holy <40> city <4172> for forty-two <5062> <2532> <1417> months <3376>.
3And <2532> I will grant <1325> my <3450> two <1417> witnesses <3144> authority to prophesy <4395> for 1,260 <5507> <1250> <1835> days <2250>, dressed <4016> in <4526> sackcloth.
4(These <3778> are <1510> the two <1417> olive trees <1636> and <2532> the two <1417> lampstands <3087> that stand <2476> before <1799> the Lord <2962> of the earth <1093>.)
5If <1487> anyone <5100> wants <2309> to harm <91> them <846>, fire <4442> comes out <1607> of <1537> their <846> mouths <4750> and <2532> completely consumes <2719> their <846> enemies <2190>. If <1487> anyone <5100> wants <2309> to harm <91> them <846>, they must <1163> be killed <615> this way <3779>.
6These <3778> two have <2192> the power <1849> to close up <2808> the sky <3772> so <2443> that it does <1026> not <3361> rain <1026> rain <5205> during the time <2250> they <846> are prophesying <4394>. They have <2192> power <1849> to turn <4762> the waters <5204> to <1519> blood <129> and <2532> to strike <3960> the earth <1093> with <1722> every <3956> kind of plague <4127> whenever <1437> they want <2309>.
7When <3752> they have completed <5055> their <846> testimony <3141>, the beast <2342> that comes up <305> from <1537> the abyss <12> will make <4160> war <4171> on <3326> them <846> and <2532> conquer <3528> them <846> and <2532> kill <615> them <846>.
8Their <846> corpses <4430> will lie in <1909> the street <4113> of the great <3173> city <4172> that <3748> is <2564> symbolically <4153> called <2564> Sodom <4670> and <2532> Egypt <125>, where <3699> their <846> Lord <2962> was <4717> also <2532> crucified <4717>.
9For three <5140> and <2532> a half <2255> days <2250> those from <1537> every people <2992>, tribe <5443>, nation <1484>, and <2532> language <1100> will look at <991> their <846> corpses <4430>, because they will <863> not <3756> permit <863> them to be placed <5087> in <1519> a tomb <3418>.
10And <2532> those who live <2730> on <1909> the earth <1093> will rejoice <5463> over <1909> them <846> and <2532> celebrate <2165>, even <2532> sending <3992> gifts <1435> to each other <240>, because <3754> these <3778> two <1417> prophets <4396> had tormented <928> those who live <2730> on <1909> the earth <1093>.
11But <2532> after <3326> three <5140> and <2532> a half <2255> days <2250> a breath <4151> of life <2222> from <1537> God <2316> entered <1525> them <846>, and <2532> they stood <2476> on <1909> their <846> feet <4228>, and <2532> tremendous <3173> fear <5401> seized <1968> those who were watching <2334> them <846>.
12Then <2532> they heard <191> a loud <3173> voice <5456> from <1537> heaven <3772> saying <3004> to them <846>: “Come up <305> here <5602>!” So <2532> the two prophets went up <305> to <1519> heaven <3772> in <1722> a cloud <3507> while their <846> enemies <2190> stared at <2334> them <846>.
13Just then <1722> <1565> <5610> a major <3173> earthquake <4578> took place <1096> and <2532> a tenth <1182> of the city <4172> collapsed <4098>; seven <2033> thousand <5505> people <444> were killed <615> in <1722> the earthquake <4578>, and <2532> the rest <3062> were terrified <1096> terrified <1719> and <2532> gave <1325> glory <1391> to the God <2316> of heaven <3772>.
14The second <1208> woe <3759> has come and gone <565>; the third <5154> is coming <2064> quickly <5035>.
15Then <2532> the seventh <1442> angel <32> blew <4537> his trumpet <4537>, and <2532> there were <1096> loud <3173> voices <5456> in <1722> heaven <3772> saying <3004>: “The kingdom <932> of the world <2889> has become <1096> the kingdom of our <2257> Lord <2962> and <2532> of his <846> Christ <5547>, and <2532> he will reign <936> for <1519> ever <165> and ever <165>.”
16Then <2532> the twenty-four <1501> <5064> elders <4245> who are seated <2521> on <1909> their <846> thrones <2362> before <1799> God <2316> threw <4098> themselves down <4098> with <1909> their <846> faces <4383> to the ground <4098> and <2532> worshiped <4352> God <2316>
17with these words <3004>: “We give <2168> you <4671> thanks <2168>, Lord <2962> God <2316>, the All-Powerful <3841>, the one who is <1510> and <2532> who was <1510>, because <3754> you have taken <2983> your <4675> great <3173> power <1411> and <2532> begun to reign <936>.
18The nations <1484> were enraged <3710>, but <2532> your <4675> wrath <3709> has come <2064>, and <2532> the <3588> time <2540> has come for the <3588> dead <3498> to be judged <2919>, and <2532> the time has come to give <1325> to your <4675> servants <1401>, the <3588> prophets <4396>, their reward <3408>, as well as to the saints <40> and <2532> to those who revere <5399> your <4675> name <3686>, both small <3398> and <2532> great <3173>, and <2532> the time has come to destroy <1311> those who destroy <1311> the earth <1093>.”
19Then <2532> the temple <3485> of God <2316> in <1722> heaven <3772> was opened <455> and <2532> the ark <2787> of his <846> covenant <1242> was visible <3700> within <1722> his <846> temple <3485>. And <2532> there were <1096> flashes of lightning <796>, roaring <5456>, crashes of thunder <1027>, an earthquake <4578>, and <2532> a great <3173> hailstorm <5464>.
