TB: Tetapi bagi mereka, itu adalah tenungan yang menipu, walaupun mereka mengangkat sumpah yang muluk-muluk; tetapi ia mengingat kesalahan mereka, sehingga mereka ditangkap.


AYT: Bagi mereka, itu seperti ramalan palsu di mata mereka. Mereka telah bersumpah suci, tetapi ia mengingatkan kesalahan mereka sehingga mereka dapat ditangkap.”

TL: Tetapi adalah kepadanya, yaitu kepada pemandangannya, seperti pembilang ramal itu dusta, pada sangkanya mereka itu sudah berjanji pakai sumpah, tetapi dinyatakannya kelak khianat mereka itu yang patut mereka itu disiksakan.

MILT: "Dan hal itu akan terjadi pada mereka untuk meramal kesia-siaan di depan mata mereka, yaitu mereka yang telah mengikrarkan sumpah kepada mereka. Namun dia akan mengingat kesalahan mereka sehingga mereka akan ditangkap.

BIS: Penduduk Yerusalem tidak akan percaya bahwa mereka diserang, karena mereka telah membuat perjanjian dengan Babel. Tetapi ramalan ini akan memperingatkan mereka bahwa mereka akan ditangkap karena dosa-dosa mereka.

FAYH: Yerusalem tidak mengerti mengapa sampai terjadi penyerbuan itu, mengapa para petenung itu memberikan petunjuk-petunjuk yang menurut mereka salah sama sekali. (Karena bukankah Babel itu sekutu Yehuda dan telah bersumpah untuk membela Yerusalem?) Tetapi rupanya raja Babel hanya ingat mengenai pemberontakan-pemberontakan penduduk Yerusalem. Maka ia akan menyerang dan menaklukkan mereka."

ENDE: (21-28) Hal2 jang sedemikian memang hobatan jang tidak berguna menurut pandangan mereka jang ada sumpah-setia padanja. Tetapi Dialah jang mengingatkan kesalahan, agar (mereka) ditawan.

Shellabear 1912: Maka yaitu akan menjadi seperti tenungan yang sia-sia pada pemandangan orang-orang yang telah bersumpah setia dengan dia tetapi diingatkanlah kejahatan itu supaya orang-orang itu boleh ditangkap.

NETBible: But those in Jerusalem will view it as a false omen. They have sworn solemn oaths, but the king of Babylon will accuse them of violations in order to seize them.

NASB: "And it will be to them like a false divination in their eyes; they have sworn solemn oaths. But he brings iniquity to remembrance, that they may be seized.
