AYT: Raja sangat sedih, lalu naik ke ruangan atas pintu gerbang dan menangis. Inilah perkataannya sambil berjalan, “Anakku Absalom! Anakku, anakku, Absalom! Sekiranya aku mati menggantikanmu, oh Absalom, anakku, anakku!”


TB: Maka terkejutlah raja dan dengan sedih ia naik ke anjung pintu gerbang lalu menangis. Dan beginilah perkataannya sambil berjalan: "Anakku Absalom, anakku, anakku Absalom! Ah, kalau aku mati menggantikan engkau, Absalom, anakku, anakku!"

TL: Maka sangat hancurlah hati baginda, lalu naiklah baginda ke atas sotoh pintu gerbang sambil menangis, sambil berkata dalam antara baginda naik itu: Wai anakku Absalom! Wai anakku Absalom, wai anakku Absalom! Aduh, terutamalah aku sudah mati akan gantimu, wai Absalom anakku! wai anakku!

FAYH: Mendengar itu raja menjadi sedih dan mencucurkan air mata. Lalu ia naik ke kamarnya di dekat pintu gerbang kota itu sambil meratap, "Oh, anakku Absalom, anakku, anakku. Semestinya aku saja yang mati menggantikan engkau! Oh, Absalom, anakku, anakku."
