Therefore<3767> if<1487> there is any<5100> encouragement<3874> in Christ<5547>, if<1487> there is any<5100> consolation<3890> of love<26>, if<1487> there is any<5100> fellowship<2842> of the Spirit<4151>, if<1487> any<5100> affection<4698> and compassion<3628>,
make<4137> my joy<5479> complete<4137> by being of the same<846> mind<5426>, maintaining<2192> the same<846> love<26>, united<4861> in spirit<4861>, intent<5426> on one<1520> purpose<5426>.
Do nothing<3367> from selfishness<2052> or<3366> empty<2754> conceit<2754>, but with humility<5012> of mind<5012> regard<2233> one<240> another<240> as more<5242> important<5242> than yourselves<1438>;
do not merely look<4648> out for your own<1438> personal<1538> interests, but also<2532> for the interests of others<2087>.
Have<5426> this<3778> attitude<5426> in yourselves<4771> which<3739> was also<2532> in Christ<5547> Jesus<2424>,
who<3739>, although He existed<5225> in the form<3444> of God<2316>, did not regard<2233> equality<2470> with God<2316> a thing<725> to be grasped<725>,
but emptied<2758> Himself<1438>, taking<2983> the form<3444> of a bond-servant<1401>, and being<1096> made<1096> in the likeness<3667> of men<444>.
Being found<2147> in appearance<4976> as a man<444>, He humbled<5013> Himself<1438> by becoming<1096> obedient<5255> to the point<3360> of death<2288>, even<1161> death<2288> on a cross<4716>.
For this<1352> reason<1352> also<2532>, God<2316> highly<5251> exalted<5251> Him, and bestowed<5483> on Him the name<3686> which is above<5228> every<3956> name<3686>,
so<2443> that at the name<3686> of Jesus<2424> EVERY<3956> KNEE<1119> WILL BOW<2578>, of those who are in heaven<2032> and on earth<1919> and under<2709> the earth<2709>,
and that every<3956> tongue<1100> will confess<1843> that Jesus<2424> Christ<5547> is Lord<2962>, to the glory<1391> of God<2316> the Father<3962>.
So<5620> then<5620>, my beloved<27>, just<2531> as you have always<3842> obeyed<5219>, not as in my presence<3952> only<3440>, but now<3568> much<4183> more<3123> in my absence<666>, work<2716> out your salvation<4991> with fear<5401> and trembling<5156>;
for it is God<2316> who is at work<1754> in you, both<2532> to will<2309> and to work<1754> for His good<2107> pleasure<2107>.
Do<4160> all<3956> things<3956> without<5565> grumbling<1112> or<2532> disputing<1261>;
so<2443> that you will prove<1096> yourselves to be blameless<273> and innocent<185>, children<5043> of God<2316> above<299> reproach<299> in the midst<3319> of a crooked<4646> and perverse<1294> generation<1074>, among<1722> whom<3739> you appear<5316> as lights<5458> in the world<2889>,
holding<1907> fast<1907> the word<3056> of life<2222>, so<1519> that in the day<2250> of Christ<5547> I will have reason<2745> to glory<2745> because<3754> I did not run<5143> in vain<2756> nor<3761> toil<2872> in vain<2756>.
But even<2532> if<1487> I am being poured<4689> out as a drink<4689> offering<4689> upon the sacrifice<2378> and service<3009> of your faith<4102>, I rejoice<5463> and share<4796> my joy<4796> with you all<3956>.
You too<2532>, I urge you, rejoice<5463> in the same<846> way<846> and share<4796> your joy<4796> with me.
But I hope<1679> in the Lord<2962> Jesus<2424> to send<3992> Timothy<5095> to you shortly<5030>, so<2443> that I also<2532> may be encouraged<2174> when I learn<1097> of your condition<3588><4012>.
For I have<2192> no<3762> one<3762> else of kindred<2473> spirit<2473> who<3748> will genuinely<1104> be concerned<3309> for your welfare<3588>.
For they all<3956> seek<2212> after<2212> their own<1438> interests, not those<3588> of Christ<5547> Jesus<2424>.
But you know<1097> of his proven<1382> worth<1382>, that he served<1398> with me in the furtherance of the gospel<2098> like<5613> a child<5043> serving his father<3962>.
Therefore<3767> I hope<1679> to send<3992> him immediately<1824>, as soon as I see<872> how<872> things<3588> go with me;
and I trust<3982> in the Lord<2962> that I myself<846> also<2532> will be coming<2064> shortly<5030>.
But I thought<2233> it necessary<316> to send<3992> to you Epaphroditus<1891>, my brother<80> and fellow<4904> worker<4904> and fellow<4961> soldier<4961>, who is also<1161> your messenger<652> and minister<3011> to my need<5532>;
because<1894> he was longing<1971> for you all<3956> and was distressed<85> because<1360> you had heard<191> that he was sick<770>.
For indeed<2532> he was sick<770> to the point<3897> of death<2288>, but God<2316> had<1653> mercy<1653> on him, and not on him only<3441> but also<2532> on me, so<2443><3361> that I would not have<2192> sorrow<3077> upon sorrow<3077>.
Therefore<3767> I have sent<3992> him all<4709> the more<4709> eagerly<4709> so<2443> that when you see<3708> him again<3825> you may rejoice<5463> and I may be less<253> concerned<253> about you.
Receive<4327> him then<3767> in the Lord<2962> with all<3956> joy<5479>, and hold<2192> men<5108> like<5108> him in high<1784> regard<1784>;
because<3754> he came<1448> close<1448> to death<2288> for the work<2041> of Christ<5547>, risking<3850> his life<5590> to complete<378> what<5303> was deficient<5303> in your service<3009> to me.
