Now<1161> after<3796> the Sabbath<4521>, as it began to dawn<2020> toward<1519> the first<1520> day of the week<4521>, Mary<3137> Magdalene<3094> and the other<243> Mary<3137> came<2064> to look<2334> at the grave<5028>.
And behold<2400>, a severe<3173> earthquake<4578> had occurred<1096>, for an angel<32> of the Lord<2962> descended<2597> from heaven<3772> and came<4334> and rolled<617> away<617> the stone<3037> and sat<2521> upon it.
And his appearance<1490> was like<5613> lightning<796>, and his clothing<1742> as white<3022> as snow<5510>.
The guards<5083> shook<4579> for fear<5401> of him and became<1096> like<5613> dead<3498> men<3498>.
The angel<32> said<3004> to the women<1135>, "Do not be afraid<5399>; for I know<3609> that you are looking<2212> for Jesus<2424> who has been crucified<4717>.
"He is not here<5602>, for He has risen<1453>, just<2531> as He said<3004>. Come<1205>, see<3708> the place<5117> where<3699> He was lying<2749>.
"Go<4198> quickly<5035> and tell<3004> His disciples<3101> that He has risen<1453> from the dead<3498>; and behold<2400>, He is going<4254> ahead<4254> of you into Galilee<1056>, there<1563> you will see<3708> Him; behold<2400>, I have told<3004> you."
And they left<565> the tomb<3419> quickly<5035> with fear<5401> and great<3173> joy<5479> and ran<5143> to report<518> it to His disciples<3101>.
And behold<2400>, Jesus<2424> met<5221> them and greeted<3004><5463> them. And they came<4334> up and took<2902> hold<2902> of His feet<4228> and worshiped<4352> Him.
Then<5119> Jesus<2424> *said<3004> to them,
Now<1161> while they were on their way<4198>, some<5100> of the guard<2892> came<2064> into the city<4172> and reported<518> to the chief<749> priests<749> all<537> that had happened<1096>.
And when they had assembled<4863> with the elders<4245> and consulted<4824><2983> together<4824>, they gave<1325> a large<2425> sum<2425> of money<694> to the soldiers<4757>,
and said<3004>, "You are to say<3004>, 'His disciples<3101> came<2064> by night<3571> and stole<2813> Him away<2813> while we were asleep<2837>.'
"And if<1437> this<3778> should come<191> to the governor's<2232> ears<191>, we will win<3982> him over<3982> and keep<4160> you out of trouble<275>."
And they took<2983> the money<694> and did<4160> as they had been instructed<1321>; and this<3778> story<3056> was widely<1310> spread<1310> among<3844> the Jews<2453>, and is to this<4594> day<4594>.
But the eleven<1733> disciples<3101> proceeded<4198> to Galilee<1056>, to the mountain<3735> which<3757> Jesus<2424> had designated<5021>.
When they saw<3708> Him, they worshiped<4352> Him; but some<3588> were doubtful<1365>.
And Jesus<2424> came<4334> up and spoke<2980> to them, saying<3004>,
