2complete <4137> my <3450> joy <5479> and be of the same <846> mind <5426>, by having <2192> the same <846> love <26>, being united in spirit <4861>, and having <5426> one <1520> purpose <5426>.
3Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition <2052> or <3366> vanity <2754>, each of you should, in humility <5012>, be moved to treat <2233> one another <240> as more important <5242> than yourself <1438>.
4Each <1538> of you should be concerned <4648> not <3361> only about your own interests <1438>, but <235> about the interests of others <2087> as well.
5You should have <5426> the same <5124> attitude <5426> toward <1722> one another <5213> that Christ <5547> Jesus <2424> had,

9As a result <1352> God <2316> exalted <5251> him <846> and <2532> gave <5483> him <846> the name <3686> that is above <5228> every <3956> name <3686>,
10so that <2443> at <1722> the name <3686> of Jesus <2424> every <3956> knee <1119> will bow <2578> –in heaven <2032> and <2532> on earth <1919> and <2532> under the earth <2709>–

18And <1161> in the same way <846> you <5210> also <2532> should be glad <5463> and <2532> rejoice together <4796> with me <3427>.
19Now I hope <1679> in <1722> the Lord <2962> Jesus <2424> to send <3992> Timothy <5095> to you <5213> soon <5030>, so that <2443> I too <2504> may be encouraged <2174> by hearing news <1097> about <4012> you <5216>.
20For <1063> there is no one <3762> here like <2473> him who <3748> will readily <1104> demonstrate <3309> his deep concern <3309> for <4012> you <5216>.
21Others <3956> are busy with their own <1438> concerns <2212>, not <3756> those of Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>.
22But <1161> you know <1097> his <846> qualifications <1382>, that <3754> like <5613> a son <5043> working with his father <3962>, he served <1398> with <4862> me <1698> in advancing <1519> the gospel <2098>.
23So <3767> I hope <1679> to send <3992> him as soon as <1824> I know <872> more about <4012> my situation <1691>,
24though <1161> I am confident <3982> in <1722> the Lord <2962> that <3754> I <2064> too <2532> will be coming <2064> to see you soon <5030>.
25But <1161> for now I have considered <2233> it necessary <316> to send <3992> Epaphroditus <1891> to <4314> you <5209>. For he is my brother <80>, coworker <4904> and <2532> fellow soldier <4961>, and your <5216> messenger <652> and <2532> minister <3011> to me <3450> in my <3450> need <5532>.
26Indeed <1894>, he <1510> greatly missed <1971> all <3956> of you <5209> and <2532> was distressed <85> because <1360> you heard <191> that <3754> he had been ill <770>.
27In fact he became so ill <770> that he nearly <3897> died <2288>. But <235> God <2316> showed mercy <1653> to him <846>– and <1161> not <3756> to him <846> only <3441>, but <235> also <2532> to me <1691>– so that <2443> I would <2192> not <3361> have <2192> grief <3077> on <1909> top of grief <3077>.
28Therefore <3767> I am all the more eager <4708> to send <3992> him <846>, so that <2443> when <1492> you see <1492> him <846> again <3825> you can rejoice <5463> and I <2504> can be <1510> free from anxiety <253>.
29So <3767> welcome <4327> him <846> in <1722> the Lord <2962> with <3326> great <3956> joy <5479>, and <2532> honor <1784> people like <5108> him,
30since <3754> it was because <1223> of the work <2041> of Christ <2962> that he almost <3360> died <2288>. He risked <1448> <3851> his life <5590> so <2443> that he could make up <378> for your <5216> inability <5303> to <4314> serve <3009> me <3165>.
