3Blessed <3107> is the one who reads <314> the words <3056> of this prophecy <4394> aloud, and blessed are those who hear <191> and <2532> obey <5083> the things written <1125> in <1722> it <846>, because <1063> the time <2540> is near <1451>!
4From John <2491>, to the seven <2033> churches <1577> that are in <1722> the province of Asia <773>: Grace <5485> and <2532> peace <1515> to you <5213> from <575> “he who is <1510>,” and <2532> who was <1510>, and <2532> who is still to come <2064>, and <2532> from <575> the seven <2033> spirits <4151> who <3739> are before <1799> his <846> throne <2362>,
5and <2532> from <575> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>– the faithful <4103> witness <3144>, the firstborn <4416> from among the dead <3498>, the ruler <758> over the kings <935> of the earth <1093>. 9I <1473>, John <2491>, your <5216> brother <80> and <2532> the one who shares <4791> with you in <1722> the persecution <2347>, kingdom <932>, and <2532> endurance <5281> that are in <1722> Jesus <2424>, was <1096> on <1722> the island <3520> called <2564> Patmos <3963> because of <1223> the word <3056> of God <2316> and <2532> the testimony <3141> about Jesus <2424>.
10I was <1096> in <1722> the Spirit <4151> on <1722> the Lord’s <2960> Day <2250> when <2532> I heard <191> behind <3694> me <3450> a loud <3173> voice <5456> like <5613> a trumpet <4536>,
11saying <3004>: “Write <1125> in <1519> a book <975> what <3739> you see <991> and <2532> send <3992> it to the seven <2033> churches <1577>– to <1519> Ephesus <2181>, Smyrna <4667>, Pergamum <4010>, Thyatira <2363>, Sardis <4554>, Philadelphia <5359>, and <2532> Laodicea <2993>.”
12I turned <1994> to see <991> whose voice <5456> was <3748> speaking <2980> to <3326> me <1700>, and <2532> when <1994> I did <1994> so, I saw <1492> seven <2033> golden <5552> lampstands <3087>,
13and <2532> in <1722> the midst <3319> of the lampstands <3087> was one like <3664> a son <5207> of man <444>. He was dressed in <1746> a robe extending down to <4158> his feet <4158> and <2532> he wore a wide <4024> golden <5552> belt <4024> around <4314> his chest <3149>.
14His <846> head <2776> and <2532> hair <2359> were as white <3022> as <5613> wool <2053>, even as white <3022> as <5613> snow <5510>, and <2532> his <846> eyes <3788> were like <5613> a fiery <4442> flame <5395>.
15His <846> feet <4228> were like <3664> polished bronze <5474> refined <4448> in <1722> a furnace <2575>, and <2532> his <846> voice <5456> was like <5613> the roar <5456> of many <4183> waters <5204>.
16He held <2192> seven <2033> stars <792> in <1722> his <846> right <1188> hand <5495>, and <2532> a sharp <3691> double-edged <1366> sword <4501> extended out <1607> of <1537> his <846> mouth <4750>. His <846> face shone <3799> like <5613> the sun <2246> shining <5316> at <1722> full strength <1411>.
17When <3753> I saw <1492> him <846> I fell down <4098> at <4314> his <846> feet <4228> as though <5613> I were dead <3498>, but <2532> he placed <5087> his <846> right hand <1188> on <1909> me <1691> and said <3004>: “Do <5399> not <3361> be afraid <5399>! 19Therefore <3767> write <1125> what <3739> you saw <1492>, what <3739> is <1510>, and <2532> what <3739> will <3195> be <1096> after <3326> these things <5023>.
20The <3588> mystery <3466> of the seven <2033> stars <792> that <3739> you saw <1492> in <1909> my <3450> right hand <1188> and <2532> the seven <2033> golden <5552> lampstands <3087> is this: The seven <2033> stars <792> are <1510> the angels <32> of the <3588> seven <2033> churches <1577> and <2532> the seven <2033> lampstands <3087> are <1510> the seven <2033> churches <1577>.
